Relegation 24/25 Thread

Semedo definitely gets his body across and makes no attempt to go for the ball. He's just trying to block the attacker. You're either sympathetic to the defender or not in that situation. 50/50 on whoever's on VAR. Atwell/Coote in there and no way it gets overturned.

The second goal, both "challenges" were very soft but I could see at least one of them being given. Dawson did have a bit of a grip on Archer's shirt but wasn't an obvious tug back or enough to say it's a definite foul. Archer should have been stronger instead of backing in and falling over so easily. Same with the previous one tbh who also went over at the tiniest hint of contact. I'd have been annoyed if the goal got chalked off for either of them because neither were clear fouls.

I think Chinos Julen gets sacked if they lose to both Newcastle and Arsenal (could easily happen).

Trying to be objective
West Ham 5 (17)
Leicester 4 (14)
Everton 5 (15)
Ipswich 6 (14)
Palace 2 (9)
Wolves 4 (10)
Southampton 3 (7)

So 4 points off safety at Xmas

Yep then our tough fixtures kick in again as said I’m not worried as I’m convinced we’re going down especially considering GON probably gets 2-3 of the post international break fixtures.

Fulham and Bournemouth are miles better than us, we're not getting a point out of them two. Everton and West Ham are both shit and with a lower performance ceiling than we've got but both games can be any result.

I gave us 4 draws and 2 defeats to West Ham and Fulham.

If we don't win any of the next four then we're back into the territory of he HAS to be sacked, same as if we'd failed to win yesterday.

Not to take this thread off course but thought I'd look up where the Prem league was this time last season. It offers a glimmer of hope.
Everton were bottom with just 3 pts from 11 games, Sheff Utd and Burnley were on 4 pts, Bournemouth and Luton on 6 pts. Bournemouth had just taken a 6-1 hiding from Man City. We had 12 points and were in 13th position after a much easier start to the season.
The relegated 3 were far worse than anything I've seen this season, i think Everton were relieved that their points deduction was given when it was, as they had the best chance in years to stay up.

As I’ve said the difference with this side compared to the one under lop, Lage and even Nuno we had players who could shithouse a1-0 win in a desperate situation.
This bunch have that and don’t use yesterday as an example as that was effectively keeping a clean sheet v Championship opponents.

I think we get 6 points from those 6 games, so that leaves us on 13 from 17 before we kick in to the 'written off because they're too tough games'

Fulham - lose
Bournemouth - lose
Everton - draw
West Ham - draw
Ipswich - win (will be O'Neils next 'win or sacked' game)
Leicester - draw

It's United and Spurs after that, we'll have to see how the former go under Amorim but as it stands no-one should be writing off any fixture against that pair.

We shouldn't write off any game in this league, some sections of our fan base seem fine with it though

We have sections of our fan base who don't seem to mind Doherty or Guedes. They are of course wrong.

I think all those seven teams are pretty shit, they've all got fundamental flaws that won't get fixed over the next half a dozen games. Would be very surprised if any of them pull away to any meaningful extent.

The middle comment about Andre is just comedy, these are the kind of fans out there that’ll do anything to justify the current state of affairs.
