Christ, some of the shit I have witnessed in 30+ years of watching Wolves, if I get the chance to watch just 1 game of my team playing in a European Competition I will be fookin ecstatic. Won't give a crap about (apparently) not being ready or the squad is too small or it gets in the way of pre-season or what others have done, I will be watching Wolves in Europe. I don't care if we play Barry Town United or a team made up of postmen from Luxembourg, it will be Wolves in Europe. WOLVES IN EUROPE.

Whether we get 7th & City win the Cup gifting us access to a European journey isn't that important.

We will still have performed better than anything we have done for a very long time.

We are ahead of the schedule set, so if we get there we will embrace it and give it a go. If we don't then we will have another go next season - the funds are there to do so.

Point taken; but laws are not rules. Rules are black and white, laws are by definition interpretable. I was talking about the way in which referees are advised to interpret the laws today, a discussion point that clearly only concerns former referees!.

To clarify another point; I currently think Wolves would not be ready for the EL because their squad is not large enough. That could change, of course, this summer and I would be delighted.

Of course it is. But if you’ve got better players then that outweighs it (finishing higher up league= typically you have better and can attract better players). If not then Man City would not be in the title race as they’ve played more games than everyone else so are at a huge disadvantage.

We need to prepared though. To say being in Europe won't have any effect just isn't true.

We absolutely should see it as an opportunity but we'll have to recruit to cope, even then, we won't we swapping 10 players around between Europe and the league games so it will have an impact
