Chasing Europe...........

I think now 8th won't qualify Europe would have been a stretch too far even without injuries and none recruitment. 7 points behind Newcastle which will likely be greater than that by the end of the season. A Cup Semi and maybe a final on the other hand...
And the extra 3mill per place.

I think he means that even with the bonus calculation, the difference between 13th and 8th is still 9mil.

Around 100k bonus per player per position. Seems somewhat doubtful

The whole premise of supposedly having the 4th lowest wage bill in the league and yet still not having a pot to piss in is somewhat doubtful. This is however the club that spent £13.3m on agents fees whilst barely signing a player though, so tells you how badly we are structured financially

England officially doesn't have the 5th CL place, therefore 8th won't make the Conference League

Still just about conceivable that Man Utd finish 8th and win the FA Cup in which case 7th would also get nothing.

If United finish 7th (or lower) and win the FA Cup then 6th will be off to the Conference League.

Not that it will get Europe, but the form of the 8th - 13th group is pretty rancid. Bournemouth the pick but even though they fully deserved a win against us we were robbed by the VAR. Palace left themselves too much to do to close it and Everton would be right amongst it without the deduction.

West Ham have won 4 out of 26 or something

Newcastle take 7th with 60 and a big GD (will still miss out if United win the cup - incidentally, their worst finish since 1990)

Think that was beyond us anyway but we were 9th on 41 points after 28 games, might have been nice to have a go.

Villa finishing 4th despite finishing off with a record of W3 D4 L4 is fortunate to say the least. Got lucky with Spurs totally dropping the ball and Chelsea/Newcastle having too much ground to make up.

They've been very poor since winning at The Emirates. Any other season they'd have dropped out of it, just like Leicester missed out on the final day two seasons running.

Regards Burnley and Kompany. Do they try hard to keep him knowing he can get them promoted again, or do they get rid while his stock is high?

They've been very poor ultimately. £100m odd spent and only 24 points due to him sticking to his "philosophy" is a dreadful return. If I was a Burnley fan I'd want rid personally.

He’s built a squad to play a certain way. If you bin him presumably it’s because you accept that on their budget you can’t get players to play that way successfully in the PL. I’d keep him as he proved he can do it in the Championship but on the proviso he accepts a more pragmatic approach is required if he gets them back up.

His stock is high?
