Nuno to leave Wolves

Deleted just in case Timmy boy drops in here with his legal eagles waving cease and desist letters..

Would I question our football at points this season? Yes, certainly, although I think at times we haven't got what we deserved, and there are huge mitigating circumstances. Let's see how Spurs do if they play 30 games without Harry Kane.

I do think it's revisionism to suddenly go "ah, well it was fair enough, I suppose" when hardly anyone held that opinion 48 hours ago and those that did were mostly complete heid the ba's.

I don't think we have a plan, I admire the optimism.
Newcastle have had a worst injury crisis than us. Not sure how it can be revisionism when I’ve physically posted it on here for 4 months?

I don’t admire the pessimism.

For me, it depends on how much if the stuff Spiers wrote is true.

Any strong differences in direction behind the scenes is unsustainable. Good people working in the same way is more effective that superb people going in different directions.

I meant more widely. I can accept if you personally wanted him gone, that's fine, I disagree but whatever. The desperate scrambling to defend the club when they've done something that you wouldn't have contemplated...less so. And there's plenty of that going on.

Presuming Nuno and Fosun talked last Summer about transitioning to a new style - I don't think it's unreasonable that they've looked at this season and summised that Nuno won't be able to coach that way. Other than the odd half an hour here or there, there's been very little evidence that he can make that work in any meaningful way. There's been very little creativity and invention. And if that's not Nuno's style (and he's clearly exceptional at what he did for the first 18 months in the PL) then he's not the man for the future. With more time he *might* have been able to do it, but it's a hope rather than a think.

I was clear that I really hoped he could, but didn't think he'd be able to. If Fosun were of the same mind, then what's the point in dragging it out until October, or Christmas, and then trying to get a new man in mid-season?

I'm with you on this DW. It doesn't sit right with me. No way they will upgrade Nuno the person and what he means to the people of Wolverhampton. Maybe they can upgrade his coaching style, but not what he is as a whole. He was just so much more than a coach.
Totally agree that if you polled this forum 48hrs ago on Nuno in or out 9 out of 10 (or higher) would have said in.

I agree here - if we're being charitable, it's people reflecting and changing their mind. In reality it's more like revisionism

Lot of speculation in that and source close to the dressing room could be the bloody tea lady.

Yeah, bit of a no-no to post that on here, Facebook groups have been threatened with legal action for doing so.

Not your fault but I wouldn't if I were you.

I'll take it off in a bit then, which will give some folk here time to read it. I do pay for the subscription though.

My money’s of the lad that dishes out the soup in the Novotel the night before a home game.

To clarify, I didn’t want him gone.

And this was my view. I hoped he could, but wasn’t convinced. Fosun have made the decision though and if they felt he couldn’t then no point waiting.

I think Wolves-news fb group was one if I remember rightly.

Pretty much my stance too. I didn't want him gone, but can see the reasonings. Doesn't mean I agree.

Spurs got to the Champions League Final without Harry Kane a couple of years ago.

But take your points, totally, as always 👍

If that hypothetical poll was a binary option then I agree. But my feeling is that it there were a jury's out, 'give him till Christmas/10 games and see where we are then' option, it would have won by a street. We all wanted him to succeed next season, but I think a lot of people had their doubts about whether he was going to. Now we'll never know. The 'revisionism' is perhaps more a reflection of the removal of that doubt along with Nuno. He's gone, whether we like it or not, and I'm hoping that the end of a great era under Nuno heralds an even better one under someone. We'll find out soon enough. Optimism may be pointless, but it's surely better than the alternative.

I'm slightly annoyed we didn't sign Olmo if we had the chance to. I thought at the time we didn't have a chance as he went to a team in Europe.
