Nuno to leave Wolves

I think that bit is total bollocks to be honest, Podence and Olmo aren't even remotely the same kind of player.

If that hypothetical poll was a binary option then I agree. But my feeling is that it there were a jury's out, 'give him till Christmas/10 games and see where we are then' option, it would have won by a street. We all wanted him to succeed next season, but I think a lot of people had their doubts about whether he was going to. Now we'll never know. The 'revisionism' is perhaps more a reflection of the removal of that doubt along with Nuno. He's gone, whether we like it or not, and I'm hoping that the end of a great era under Nuno heralds an even better one under someone. We'll find out soon enough. Optimism may be pointless, but it's surely better than the alternative.
Nuno in or out would be a binary option. That is what i was referring to. Not a choice of 10 things.
It seems obvious to me that Nuno didn't want to go, and he was sideswiped when he was told. Because of his character we'll probably never get to know how he really felt at the time.
Let's see at the end of the game tomorrow, as that might give us an idea about his feelings.

In terms of their stature and style i'd agree. But they are both attacking midfielders.

This was mentioned months ago too, it's not new news.

Ten years ago today there was a massive pitch invasion at Molineux because we stayed up. In the meantime, we've played in League One.

And now we've parted company with a manager following what will be finishing mid-table after two seventh place finishes and our third best European run ever.

It's just a different world entirely...

There's a lot of i don't want to believe it so it can't be true going about when in reality we're not sure what has gone on behind the scenes. The only thing we can go on is what we've seen with our own eyes and for me when you look at everything it's not a complete surprise that Fosun wanted a change. The football has been awful since we returned from the first lockdown imo and had showed no signs of getting better, yes we lost our best player but it just showed the deficiencies in our style of play and that it was only ever going to take us so far. I would say Nuno realised this but couldn't set this team up to play on the front foot and that is something he should have been able to do.

I don't think anyone will ever forget what he's done for this club and city in the last 4 years, no one can forget where we were 10 years ago etc but things move on and you have to move with the times. Now it might go tits up and then we can all fairly put the blame with Jeff etc.. but until we see what the club do and the results it brings i'll sit back and see what happens. I obviously have opinions already on managers we've been linked with but i don't know how they will do as manager of Wolves so i'll give them a chance.

It's going all in when you've got a pair of threes. I mean you might win. A lot of history is against you though.

I don't think Jeff Shi knows anything about football to be honest.
Hang on a minute. When I say something about Jeff Shi, it becomes the “in” joke on the forum for a few months.

Now you’re saying he knows nothing about football and no one gives it a second look!

I can’t keep up with this thread. It’s moving far too quickly to keep up with the conversation.

I totally agree with this post
The comment on the football quality since the first lockdown is very true.

I would have voted for Nuno to stay, he has done wonders for the club and the city, but limitations, whether down to covid , no fans and of course injuries have seen us far away from what we were this season. End of season and still not being able to defend crosses and corners does ask a big question.
However, I see fosun making this decision and especially them not allowing the backroom staff to stay, must mean they have a plan in the works.
Of course they are a business but their ambition is not a relegation battle, and however much nuno has done for Wolverhampton , he is here to get wins not running for election.
I loved the man but if i put emotion aside I don't see Jeff or fosun as quite the mugs some are suggesting, and as for shit Tim and the rest, who never knew about a signing until the guy was in asda how come they know all the ins and outs of this bit of news?

We won the first three games back in June 2020 without conceding and we played well too. After that it wasn't much cop though, I'll agree.

We deserved to win all 3 of those games i agree, West Ham performance was better than the other 2 and we have played well in spells since then but nowhere near what we would have expected.

I don't really follow wolves players on social media, but have many said anything about Nuno? I've seen Podence and Rui but that's about it

I think Neto, plus OO - not any others that I have seen.

Well, to be frank, we weren't half bad until our only ready-to-play striker was violently taken out of commission for the rest of the season.

We relied too heavily on said striker though and shouldn't have left ourselves open to that injury killing us

We were shite before he got injured. Our results exceeded our performances. He gets injured and we regressed to the mean.

not shit, but a bit on the decline

Well, no one could guess he would get mauled so... efficiently by David Luis, I think.
