It's people not issues, but all that falls predominantly on the shoulders of Shi anyway for at various times enabling Mendes in deals like Guedes and Lopez, thinking he could do it himself and employing yes men or handing the keys over to a manager and his mate who'd only been there 6 months with a history of leaving after around a year.
Makes sense.

He's an interesting one as he's not someone we know much about.
Which is kind of an indictment of the journalists who are supposed to be covering Wolves, really.

I feel like I should have read something, somewhere, about this "contract amendments" issue if it's enough of an problem to have got on this list.

I think we knew this anyway, but one of the things that's evident when you listen to Spiers and Judah is that working for the e&s on the Wolves job is about reporting what's infront of you and not scratching the surface or rocking the boat.

That's definitely the expectation of the club and seems to be of the paper too. I haven't heard either say that explicitly, but the amount they reveal that wasn’t reported at the time makes that clear and although interesting also imv compromises their integrity as journalists.

I can get him falling out of love with Nuno, they don't seem a great mix to work directly together.

He set us on this path by appointing one of the worst managers I have ever seen in Lage when we were in a position to attract any number of top quality candidates and then compounded that over and over for another four and a half years.

Lage was linked to us around the time of the Chorley/WBA games. One of the journos with a Mendes link revealed that so Jeff was looking for a way to get rid asap and Jorge was happy to help.

Still laugh that Scott Sellars was asked to approve the appointment and by approve i mean asked to nod along and agree with Jeff that he was the right man for the job but he did at least get to see the detailed document on him...

Shi could have said no, give us one of your other clients, mediocre will be better than fucking shit and can't speak English properly.

Spiers' Top 10 people to blame for the relegation. Self explanatory unless I've added reasoning
1 Shi
2 Pereira
3 Fosun, for letting Shi not put any proper structure in place at all football levels and letting the ground and infrastructure go into disrepair
4 Teti
5 Edwards
6 GON - fractured dressing room and there was no way back with the likes of Cunha and RAN
7 Collective players with shit attitudes
8 Hobbs, principally for twice failing to appoint a manager and having to go to Mendes
9 The bloke in Wuhan who first got Covid
10 Wild - over promoted and we've lost deals because of his contract amendments.
11 Sideshow Bob's Horror incident with Raul. Its been all down hill since then
