Loan Watch 2021-22

I've got tickets to Wimbledon v MK Dons in a few weeks, so will hopefully get to see Theo, albeit ideally on the losing side.

We simply can't dismiss Connor. Some players take longer to find their feet than others . We don't exactly have an over supply of attacking midfielder who score on a regular basis .

I'll donate £50 to the charity of your choice if he kicks a ball for us in the PL

We'll see . Fosun don't exactly hand money over to us these days for new established players that costs € 30m plus - if there is a chance that we can promote our own .

I'd prefer to keep the door open and select him in pre season matches .

Either way , he has done his chances a lot of good with his performances this season , and will not be short of suitors .

I do think sometimes that players being with us for a long time and operating at a lower level hurts them perception wise if / when they do step up.

With Connor though i think the best thing for everyone would be a permanent move for him with buy-back & sell-on clauses put in to protect us

A bit late, but here's last weekend's action, with a mid-week update to follow.

Morgan Gibbs-White - Sheffield United, The Championship

Played the full game in a 4-1 defeat and cut a frustrated figure in a series of unsuccessful attacking moves. A bad day at the office.

Luke Matheson - Scunthorpe, League Two

Picked up two bookings by 35 minutes giving him an extremely early bath. It was probably a deserved second yellow too, catching the forward on the break with a careless late challenge. Shame, because he was involved in Scunny's goal, doing well to keep a long ball forward in play by heading it to a team mate.

Renat Dadashov - C.D. Tondela, Portuguese Primeira Liga

Started at Porto in a 4-0 defeat but, like so many times this season, struggled to create anything.

Connor Ronan - St Mirren, SPL

Another full game and another goal, this one a scorcher that he smacked in from a full 30 yards in a cup QF vs Hearts. Unfortunately, they lost 4-2, but it's a beauty all the same.

Leo Campana - Inter Miami, MLS

Played the first half of a 2-0 defeat at home to LAFC before being subbed off at HT.

Jack Scott - St Patrick's Athletic, Irish Premier Division

Another full game in a 2-0 win over UCD.

Bruno Jordao, Hayao Kawabe, Jeong Sang-Bin, Bendeguz Bolla, & Leo Bonatini - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Super League

Everyone other than Sang-Bin started in a 1-0 defeat at Luzern. Bolla (subbed off 52 mins) broke forward well to force a good save from the keeper, while Kawabe (off 75) also had a shot whistle narrowly wide. Jordao and Leo (both 60) didn't make much impact.

Jackson Smith - Kettering Town, National League North

Played in a 2-1 defeat at Spennymoor. Was unlucky to be caught out with a nasty deflection for the second.

Louie Moulden - Ebbsfleet, National League South

Played in 3-1 win vs promotion rivals Oxford City. Recovered from an early fumble to make a couple of solid saves.

Joe Young - Matlock Town, Northern Premier League (7th tier)

Played in a defeat against Atherton Colleries.

Came on as sub: Corbeanu came on after 75 mins in a 1-1 draw with Wigan in a 2nd vs 3rd clash, Lewis Richards came on after 70 minutes in a 3-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers where Aaron Collins (remember him?) grabbed a brace; Cutrone came on after an hour in a 1-0 defeat at old club Milan, while Nigel Lonwijk came on at the end of a 1-0 win against Willem II in a big relegation clash.

Unused subs: Traore, O'Shaughnessy

Not in squad: Sanderson, Giles, Sondergaard, Sang-bin

Campana is quickly falling out of favor in Miami, but nothing is going right down there so it's really tough to say how much is his own fault. Neville is scrambling for answers.

Bruce and Hughes are the two closest to that low bar. Says a lot. Strachan was under Fergie early in his United reign. Don't think he went to Leeds until 1989. EDIT - plus Strachan obviously played under Fergie at Aberdeen.

I had the pleasure of viewing a long video chat with Strachan and to say he's tactically simple would be being very polite.

He's a bit of a Scottish Bruce.

Hughes is a fucking weirdo.
