Loan Watch 2021-22

Good one too. Been a scrappy 2nd half but they've dropped him into an central AM role this half from the looks of it, so he had a little 8 minute spell where he seemed to be involved in everything and then played a key role in the set up of his own goal, which he made a great run to receive the return pass and was 1-on-1 with the keeper and committed him and went around him.

Campana made very little impact for Miami yesterday, but it was clear that their problems run much, much deeper than him.

We won't learn anything from his time there and nor will his value increase.

Barca put an over inflated ‘option’ in to suck us in and we’ve bitten. They never had any intention of paying £29m did they?
I think they might've been at one point but Dembélé's return to the first team and Raphinha signing for next year has scuppered any chance of Adama ever getting a chance there. At least he's performed well when he's been given the chance, hopefully we'll get a bit more than if he'd have stayed and done fuck all here.

Hopefully that is the case. However I’m confident we’d have more points if he’d still been here than we do now. So the transfer fee will have to be pretty good to potentially offset loss of income from league position +/- European qualification. Particularly when there was £20m on the table from Spurs.

Spurs deal to be talked up again soon in the gossip columns I guess?

Not sure how you can be confident that we'd have more points with Adama. He'd been largelyy shite for a good 18 months.

He has, but when we got 0 points from Arsenal away, West Ham away and Leeds at home, I’d like to think he would have been a better option than what we bought on in those games to either hold or get a goal.

Adama was doing fine when used from the bench. Not a viable option for us to have a £20m asset there long term but I’m certain he’d have been a better option recently than the alternatives.

I don't think you can include Leeds. The manager would still have fucked it.

I don't see what difference Adama would've made in any of those games.

I agree but when we went to ten men I’m pretty sure Traore would have offered more.
Taking Saiss off and putting Silva on would've been the obvious choice.

Traore as an option would've meant we'd kept the ball about the same amount.

He's a player we haven't missed in the slightest at any point.
