Loan Watch 2018-2019

Great work as ever Sedge.

Hopefully Ronan gets a proper run now, makes no sense to me why he hasn't been getting a game. He's far too good for League One.

From the reports it feels like Jumilla have drawn almost all their games, can’t bode well for their promotion chances, or that half our loanies can’t get in their team when they’re not doing amazingly...

Think they can only pick so many in a matchday squad. So they rotate them (other than Wilson and Leak, it seems).

Do you know how many? Would make it a bit daft that we loaned them so many of that’s the case.

Half our loanees are there because without our investment nobody else would have them. Telford failed and ironically are having a better season, this is the next solution.

I don't know for sure, I'd guess five or somewhere along those lines.

From my report on the Parliament meeting:

Our link-up with FC Jumilla in Spain is as a result of Fosun’s existing links with that club. We believe that the arrangement will help develop our youngsters as people as well as players and that there is a benefit to keeping a group together as one. Because of the structure of this year’s transfer window, there was a greater difficulty in finding clubs in Leagues One and Two for some of our players and therefore this represented a good opportunity for us. The nine players out in Spain are backed up by four or five staff who are supporting them with cookery lessons, life skills, language issues and their psychology and welfare is key to us (this support also extends to the U23s who are based at Compton, albeit most of them should be able to get by with the language. Just). Early signs are that they are adapting well, with a special nod to Ryan Leak who struggled initially but is now in the team and thriving.

Is that not due to a change in manager?

So, could Lambert arriving at ITFC spell the end for young Mr Graham's hopes of match action?

Looks like Danny Batth will be making an appearance in the League Cup Quarter Finals after playing the full game against Palace the other night.

Bright lost his place in the Killie team on the same night, coming as sub at Ibrox. He only got 20 minutes of the 1-1 draw but still managed to pick up a booking.

Ben Goodliffe played another full game in a 2-0 win at bottom-placed Dover. Was credited with a John Terry-esque block, throwing his head at a shot from point blank range and deflecting it onto the post.

More a tactical switch for the game than he had been poor. Standard small team going to slightly bigger team and hoping not to lose set up

Yep, looks like it. He got decent reviews for his last two games anyway.

In other news, Zyro made his comeback from injury tonight, coming on as sub...only to be taken off ten minutes later with what I presume was a reoccurence.

Batth won motm for Boro in his first league start yesterday. Reading the report it was one of his throw yourself in front of everything performances, which we know he's good at in the Championship

Poor chap is made of biscuits

Proper Batth performance. All he had to do when he got the ball in defence was launch it in the general direction of Hugill. No pressure to pick a pass or keep possession and then just concentrate on stopping Afobe

From the weekend:

Danny Batth - Middlesborough, The Championship.

As mentioned previously, Danny got given his first full start for Boro due to injuries and he followed on from his solid cup performance to win the Man of the Match award in a goalless draw at Stoke. One particular highlight being a crucial block to deny an almost certain Benik Afobe goal. Whether he keeps his place is probably still in doubt but that's two clean sheets in two now since he's been in team.

Connor Ronan - Walsall, League One.

Another full game but a less impressive display than his previous outing. No sign of him creating anything for his team who slid to a 3-1 defeat at home to Burton.

Rafa Mir- Las Palmas, Spanish Segunda División

A full game for Mir this week in a 1-1 draw with Deportivo. Showed a great bit of opportunism by getting his foot on the end of a stray backpass but the shot sailed just over and he couldn't get on the scoresheet.

Christian Herc - FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda, Slovak Fortuna Liga

A full game in a 1-0 win and an assist for the goal; a pinpoint ball sent in from the left for his team-mate to sweep home.

Ben Goodliffe - Dagenham and Redbridge, National League

Another full game as usual for Goodliffe in a 1-0 defeat, subbed with 10 minutes left.

Aaron Hayden - Stourbridge, Evo-Stik Premier League

Scored the third with a towering header in a 3-1 win. Stourbridge up to second in the league now.

FC Jumilla - Wilson, Stevenson and Leak were all in the starting XI again. Stevenson flashed an early shot just wide before it all started to fall apart; three goals conceded in the first half but them at a huge disadvantage at the break. Wilson started making a nuisance of himself as Jumilla tried to get back into the game and Randall was promptly subbed on to help the attack. Wilson duly grabbed his goal with 15 minutes to go but the comeback then petered out.

Sub: Seedorf made another short cameo and nearly set up an equaliser for Akpan who should have scored.

Unused subs: Johnson, Mason, Collins.

Not in squad: Graham, Miranda, Gladon, Zyro, Ofosu-Ayeh, Ruddy, Deslandes (injured), Yang (international).

Is Yang with a youth team or the senior Chinese setup?
