Bournemouth 0-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Munetsi was played out of position in the first half and it showed. Second half he showed more of the type of player he could be. He gets into goal scoring positions on a regular basis. He (sort of) reminds me of David Platt, not a very good footballer but very effective. If there is a way to get him into the team and improve his form in front of goal he could end up being the type of player everybody is talking about but we know he’s a bit shit. He could, probably should, have 4 or 5 goals.

Wolves look a completely different team. Defensively more organised, solid in midfield and still retain a decent attacking threat…but we do need goals from elsewhere more regularly.

Southampton away, Ipswich away, Leicester home, 3 wins takes us to 31 points and I don’t think any of those 3 teams will beat that total.

I am starting to believe again.

To sum up since the 1st Jan we’ve played the sides currently sat 3rd, 8th, 6th, 2nd, 7th, 1st, 5th. Got 6 points so proves the BS rhetoric back in August/September/October was exactly that BS.
The league is average and points are available everywhere.
Being brutally honest I don’t think VP is a long term fix nevertheless it’s blatantly obvious he is tactically a Mike ahead of GON.

Huge weekend.

Vitor has 13 points from 10 games, O'Neil got 9 from 16. Vitor has 4 clean sheets in the PL, O'Neil managed 3 in virtually the entirety of 2024. Why the FUCK did we leave it so long?! We shouldn't be anywhere near that rubbish bottom three.

Fulham, Everton, Southampton, West Ham. That's a chance to put it well safe before we're tucking into our Easter eggs.
At least five points please.

Based on recent performances I would be more than happy to see VP stick around.
The style of football and sense of belief that VP has brought reminds me of the Nuno days.
I feel quietly confident going into games these days. I didn't feel like that when Lage or GON were in charge. Only sometimes under Lop.

Would like to give more time however I agree we’d probably be sat around the same position as West Ham or palace now had he beeen in charge earlier.

13th in the form table for those 10 games, which isnt too shabby especially as it includes playing 7 of the top 8

smh is this even football anymore you can’t even do good old fashioned physical gameplay

In today’s game it’s a red card, those saying it’s a terrible decision are viewing from a 90’s viewpoint.
Listening on talkSPORT whilst driving home yesterday they made out it was a scandalous decision and ruined the game.

How did Djiga do?
A couple of times he was nearly caught in possession as he thought he’d got more time than he did. Hopefully it’s just a case of adapting to the pace of the PL. I’d start him next week as the only way he’ll improve is get some minutes under his belt.

Little mentioned that he actually came on. Seemed a strange thing to do, changing CB while protecting a one goal lead with around 20 mins to go? Good experience with hindsight, but any other reason cited? Bueno’s yellow didn’t seem to be weighing on him.

The outdated view on the red isn't surprising now I have seen it. Especially from ex pros, too many of them think that "winning the ball" means you can be as reckless as you like after that. Winning the ball still needs to no endanger or be reckless. This isn't like Milijas versus that coward Arteta, it's a glancing touch of the ball followed by an ankle high contact.

It's a needless challenge in the flow of the game too and so for me the focus should be on why would you support a player doing that, rather than staying on his feet, keeping position etc.
