Wolves 3-0 Leicester: Verdict Thread

Never going to have an easier Premier League game than that. Abject opposition. As soon as we went 1-0 up it was game over. Call it a Reverse Lage.

That midfield two are an immense pairing, three lovely goals (albeit Leicester couldn't have opened the door far enough) and Agba being Agba.

Happy days and good to see some good people.

I don't wanna get ahead of myself, but... Is Vítor better than Nuno? We won 6 consecutively once under Nuno, but that was in the Championship.

This is not a serious question. Yet.

Will answer if he drags us back to Europe.

Annoyingly, if he had arrived earlier this season he would have us in with a shout of that already.

He needs longevity to be there alongside Nuno, but he certainly has the traits to rival him. He's successful and likeable.

I know I'll probably get crucified for this, and not for the first time on this topic, but I genuinely believe they are a better midfield pair than Neves and Moutinho. They are more progressive and certainly more dynamic. Andre is as good on the ball as either of them and better off the ball, while Joao offers a lot more forward impetus. There is certainly no horseshoe of doom with them, and while they do sit in front of the defence well, they are much quicker at bringing the ball forward. I love them, and I never thought I'd see a midfield to rival Neves and Moutinho.

Neither of them can drop bombs like Ruben (Rúben?), but in fairness we haven't needed them to.

André is a great comp for the version of Moutinho we got tbh. Maybe better; he doesn't often need to commit the fouls that João regularly did (although if you can get away with so many should-be-bookings as he did, I guess it's only right to make use).

Bit of a pre-season sort of game today. Leicester turned up in name only, they never really looked like doing anything in the game.

Wolves had the measure the whole game and it was lovely to see us pull out a few nutmegs and crisp 1-2s without any fear.

Really enjoyable day, just got home but sadly didn't see my villa supporting mate!

Cunha motm with André a close second.

Leicester took two long throws into the box from the Steve Bull side, one in the first half then another in the second half, I stand at the back of the South Bank about 4 seat from the end of the row, on both occasions the player had a full foot on the pitch, pisses me off when the refs assistant doesn’t pick up that.

His front foot was still on the line in the first half, which is within the laws, the one in the second half was too far away for me to see.

Every single time from the fake England player. Over the line and not even close.

Outside of that, Wout Faes did nothing to change my opinion that he is one of the worst Premier League players of the last 25 years. Abysmal.

And Bobby De-Cordova Reid for Jordan Ayew has to be the most demoralisingly nothing for nothing sub in history.

Nah, the one in the first half was right in line with me, plenty of grass behind his foot.

On the first one the linesman didn’t miss it (in his opinion) and he was putting his own heel on the line to demonstrate that is what Thomas was doing.

Whether he did or not is clearly up for debate!
