Wolves are for sale and Darlo wants some smooth thighs

This thread and speculation (here and elsewhere) is becoming #thefappening2

I wouldn't be annoyed but would be surprised. Li likes to take on people 30 or under from what I can gather. Though he may defer to local knowledge and experience when it comes to a football CEO.

a new scouting team would also be nice

Moxey will be on his way after a short handover period I reckon. Can't see any reason why he would be staying on.

You can probably take that as read. That is the sort of area that would be added to. Plus Mendes being involved suggests our scouting is about to start moving in different circles.

I would be surprised. That's all.

People asking why Wolves might want to look at the basis of Baidu's corporate philosophy. From an 800 year old Chinese poem that relates to a search in the darkness and finding the thing searched for in light.

Fits rather neatly with our motto.

Good point.

The Chinese, generally speaking, have a pretty good grip on historical significance and tradition.

Having looked into the bloke I'd rather have M. Li than any Russian oligarch you could care to name.

Already looking forward to our Pre-Season tour in China. Beijing here we come....fuck Ireland for a year or 2....

I think he will keep him at least this season to help with the transition. He may go January, but would probably expect him to see the season out

There's no need for Moxey to be part of any 'transition'. Once the club belongs to Li he can get his own people in. Li does not need Jez Moxey to run a football club.

Moxey will be walking out the door with KJ.

Moxey will hang around to the extent of showing new incumbents where their desks are, handing over the files and contact lists and that will be about it. Might do the "welcome Mr Li" presser, I suppose.

true, but he may elect for some Continuity somewhere, if suddenly the entire top echelon of the club is gone that's a lot of change, and a huge Vacuum to fill.
I would rather the changes were made to the playing side, immediately with changes to the corporate side made later.
To be fair the urgent changes required at the club are Morgan, Thelwell, and Jackett
Moxey can do what he does best, before being replaced by Li's choice

Doesn't the time consuming takeover process give Mr Li excellent opportunity to find his ideal footballing CEO? With football in China really kicking off in the last 18 months I'd say it's an excellent opportunity to bring somebody from China with him. Having all this time and not having a team ready to take roles while the inks drying is Moxeyesque levels of farce.

It really isn't that big a vacuum at all. He can bring in his own choice of CEO without difficulty.

Skirrow might stay as secretary, so that is all the legals and contracts still being done the same way, along with ensuring match days happen correctly.

Jez is good at getting value in deals. I think that need is to some extent going straight out of the window.

That is one hell of a lack of understanding of what has been happening.

Gift shop, museum, and grounds staff are probably safe, as well as many of the people in the administrative hierarchy. Tony Daley and the physios as well, possibly. Everyone else in coaching staff should expect their P45, and I'd expect a completely new board in place too from day one - you don't spend all that time getting a takeover through and then start looking to fill those kinds of positions after it's done, you get people ready beforehand (just as seems to have happened with Lopetegui).

I can't see Li having day-to-day involvement in the club all the way from China, so that new board will include someone to be his direct representative, I imagine, but no reason anyone in those ranks should be expected to be from China. After all, the Chinese state's plan for turning their country into a major soccer power is pretty much "spend millions hiring European and South American coaches and players".
