Wolves are for sale and Darlo wants some smooth thighs

I have to say I totally Agree with this, whilst really excited, I am also saddened and quite worried for our future is as expected the money falls out of English football.

As long as they don't fuck around with the stadium name or change our colours, I'm not particularly concerned. Assuming of course there is going to be significant investment on and off the pitch, which I would think is a pre-requisite of anyone wishing to deal with the current regime.

Yep - and I want players who really want to "wear the shirt." Say what you like about Batth and Edwards, they're Wolves through and through. But us old gits need to move with the modern game, I suppose...

This is just what football at the top is now. We can be a "traditional" club knocking around the lower leagues, or we accept that the world has moved on and it might be fun to be a part of it. Last season was just so bloody dull, I really can't see any reason not to be excited about this.

I doubt we'll change colours (who doesn't like gold ffs), but I fear that the Molineux may soon be known as something else. The Baidu Arena or some such I would have thought.

Assuming this to be happening, I am intrigued to know the motives behind the purchase. Given his level of apparent wealth, if he wanted a "football" project as such, Wolves seems a little low key. Yes I know - history etc but he could afford to buy other clubs outright and ones where he will find it much easier to attract bigger name players -even with the offer of silly wages - we will never be London or Alderley Edge, or even looking locally Villa which presumably he could have bought before Xia and paid off any debts much like paying off a slightly overspent credit card.

If Moxey really has got this pushed through as a last hurrah, it's the corporate version of getting shedloads of dosh for Camara off various clubs.

Anyway - it does feel really like we are on the brink of something totally different. Big breath - here goes.

To kill the time, can someone add a poll to this thread? We can vote on which day this week we think this will be announced. Need to kill the time *somehow*...
Friday is my guess. 8 is a lucky number in China.

When we dance with the devil expect evil to reign. We want money and success so expect to see our souls being sold.

Could go either way really. Could be like Sheikh Mansour at Man City - I have family who are City fans and they rave about how he's respected and preserved their history while massively improving them on and off the pitch. Or it could be like Cardiff, or Hull.

Most likely, it'll be something in between. Li's wealth is no indication of how much he'll actually invest in the club. Frankly, I don't expect miracles. If we end up another Swansea or Southampton I'd consider us extremely lucky.

It won't be the 8th of the month until next Monday in China - Si 8, 4714 will be on 11 July 2016. So if he's superstitious, a few more days to wait. (If this isn't a bit of leg pulling by Jez Moxey and Kenny Jackett).

Far too much supposition here. At this stage, it's impossible to know what lies in store for us. We don't have any information with regards to who will be running the club on a day to day basis, the level of investment, who ((if anyone) from the current set up will be retained, if Robin Li is going to act as chairman, CEO, etc, future plans for the redevelopment of the stadium, plans for the academy.

And aside from Robin Li, we don't know exactly who will be involved, we don't know what plans they'll have in mind either.

Pretty much this, there's no guarantee on the amount he's willing to spend plus the new coach could be Stale II.
I'm cautiously excited by this and hope it goes through if anything the very least we'll have optimism that we are now challenging for promotion rather than being there to make up the numbers.

I think managers normally continue to get paid until either the time on their original contract ends or they get another job.

Not a bad life.

If yer don't mind 'avin to do wivvout fings, it's a fine life,
and you just ignores the fings the fan sings it's a fine life,
though you sometimes will come by,
some useless twat to buy,
you can drag him out the pub and throw him on as sub,
and wave three points goodbye.

Would anyone be really annoyed if Moxey was kept ?

I would be surprised. That's all.

People asking why Wolves might want to look at the basis of Baidu's corporate philosophy. From an 800 year old Chinese poem that relates to a search in the darkness and finding the thing searched for in light.

Fits rather neatly with our motto.

Jackett? give me a load of cash for doing something that I enjoy. Make a mediocre fist of it and walk away with a nice package, with my reputation sort of intact, scot free?
I should cocoa.

Out of darkness cometh Li.
