Wolves 2 Man Utd 1 - verdict thread (League game)

First time United have lost from in front in the Premier League since May 2016..?

Brilliant. Moutinho is God. Raul and Jota is an insane front line, and vinagre was fantastic. Anyone saying ruddy is better than Rui needs to watch that second save again. It was miraculous. A superbly entertaining ninety minutes.

A thoroughly enjoyable game and a well deserved and hard earned win. Once we got past their early storm we were every bit as good as them. A team in the quarter finals of the Champions League against a team that were in the Championship 12 months ago and you'd be hard pressed to tell which was which. What a team, what a manager we have.

He was the pundit on the program I was watching too. Andy is fair minded and impressed with how Wolves are playing. . . .

He gave us some credit, true, but to me he seemed to spend the whole game encouraging MU. I think he was rather disappointed that we won :icon_lol:

Brilliant result, could and should have been 3 down after 20 minutes but once we got our trademark 'nick it off em and score' goal thought we dominated the rest of the half. They started the second half well but we got more into it and then the red card seemed to set us back a bit, terrific ball in for our second and thought we pretty much controlled things after that. Really sets us up well for the semi......I might spontaneously combust with excitement before Sunday.

mighty wolves, I've never seen a better player than Moutinho at the wolves.

Darren fletcher “Utd were the better team, the wolves goals were Utd mistakes and wolves didn’t do anything else in the game”

What a sore losing prick...

I thought we were excellent, Raul was great and Diogo was absolutely fantastic, deserved his man of the match

He's joined the Sarri club then

Fantastic result and a superb performance.

Disappointed with Rui on the first goal, thought he could have done better if he had been further off his line, but he made 2 or three fantastic reflex stops later in the game.

Moutinho is so class. I love Jota but damn I love Moutinho in a different way, so so good in tight places, constantly throwing in little feints etc and generally making the opposition players look like newbies in comparison, just looks a step ahead throughout. Not to mention his stamina/drive/effort.

Hope he can somehow keep it up for a couple of seasons.

Agreed on Moutinho, Jota, Jimenez and Vinagre. Bit about Ruddy is probably something i mentioned the other day, Rui is better than Ruddy he's not been in the best form and again their goal he should do better with, i thought so at the time and having seen it again he plants on his left foot as the shot comes in and doesn't get across quick enough. He did however improve massively and get back to the Rui that started the season with his saves from the 2 headers after United's goal, they were both very very good saves. Hopefully he will stay at level for the rest of the season.

Absolutely fantastic, 4 points off that lot and beating them in the cup QF. I expected them to exact revenge on us in this game at the end of the QF but thankfully I was wrong. Some of our possession and attacking play was immense tonight but Moutinho stood out for me, magnificent by him, oozes class.

A United friend of mine from Ludlow(!) who used to take an interest in us and used to ask me to get Wolves tickets for him has not given us an ounce of credit in any of the games, just dismissing us as very lucky, they're running scared!

last minute phone calls from deutsch are ace! :)

that was a superb game. really entertaining to watch. I thought both teams played pretty well. we certainly started a little slow, and a little loose, but make no mistake we got better as the game went on.
Thought their goal was a really good strike tbh. they were clearly up for it from the kick off, but after 15 mins we got a foothold in the game, and took control as we went on. jota's goal was another beauty, the season highlights real is going to be a bit special. for me, from that moment we ran a lot of the game. we exercised a lot of control. they created little bits, and did try to get back in the game, but lingard had zero effect on the game, and was bypassed. dendoncker controlled pogba, and moutinho was superb (corner aside!)

our game management was really good, and the way our players position themselves to cut off passes is exceptional. it's definitely the system helping us achieve the heights we're reaching.

no-one gets below a 7.5 for me tonight. Nuno has a LOT of players keen to play in that semi final!

For me their goal looked like an excellent strike by young McTominay. It was right inside the post from my viewpoint in the North Bank and I thought tough to call out Rui on it. Obviously I need to see a tv replay to get a proper view on that though. I will prefer to dwell on the save from the Lukaku header and that insane one in the second half. I love Rui.

Plus his kicking was uniformly on song tonight which was a nice step forward!

The surface was exceptionally quick today which didn't help Rui. If the pitch was dry I'd bet Rui would have got there.

Either way it was a great contact he (McTominay) made and the ball seemed to sit up for him ever so slightly.
