A very solid and composed performance for a change. The back 3 and central 2 DMs all work hard to close players down and press along with Cunha too. Makes us a much harder proposition to break down through the middle.

Add that to the hard work and class of a player like Cunha and we look like we'll have a chance in most games going forwards now (dependent on how long his ban is).

Nice to have a bit of cuteness in the goal too, with two players boxing off Onana and distracting him enough to get nowhere near the ball.

Late nerves but managed it well and killed them from the hoofs!

Cunha MOTM by a country mile.

P. S. Two clean sheets in a row? What is this sorcery?

Jeff must be thinking now why the hell did he stick with GON for so long, hope he has had some self reflection at this moment anyhow.

He's probably not a world-beater but even someone who has some semblance of ideas and qualifications has actually got us looking like a decent unit, utilising player's qualities and trying to cover for weaknesses. Hopefully Liverpool give Leicester a battering.

Happy Christmas!

Enjoyed it. Nerves are natural when it's only 1-0 but they never had anything even close to a serious chance and never looked like they'd get one either.

More of the same from last week. Everyone pulling together, set up in a proper system with the CMs doing what they were signed to do and no ridiculous chaos. It's a simple game sometimes.

Cunha was simply magical. Enjoy him while you can.

Rode our luck after we scored. Great to get three points, should bring some more confidence.

Both a solid performance from us and an abject one from them, which was nice. Their brief recovery period in the last ten minutes or so was more a lack of composure from a team that’s lost the habit of winning games, not anything they did really.

I think we’re going to be absolutely fine come the end of the season if these last two games are indicative of the worst case scenario under VP - although a lot will come down to what happens with Cunha’s ban. Such a quality, quality player, and IMO has a higher ceiling than Neto.
