Wolves 0 - 2 Huddersfield: The Verdict.

You don't know what that site is defining as a "big miss".

Plus I'm pretty sure you were saying "seven big misses" from the exact same site a few weeks ago. So he hasn't missed a "big chance" in weeks, or that site is seriously flawed? Take your pick.

You think they're on C£500,000 per week each?

I'm sure your opinions on those players are valid to you, but be expected for others to call them shit if they don't agree with you. Having watched both players I think you're talking out of your arse, but then you're entitled to your opinion. I just wish you'd stop blathering on about the same fucking thing day after day, it's tedious.

I am quite happy for them not to agree. But to not agree and call the evidence nonsense is a bit trite. 50 million value- plus wages.

You complain when I have theories and you call them Nonsense. You complain when I show facts and you call them nonsense. You cant sit on both camps . But its fun to slag off Cyber. Fucking Brexiter. What could he know.

6 before Huddersfield #checkthefacts

I'm not going to commit to slagging Raul off, but I will say after that utterly ridiculous lay off to a ghost all I could shout in my head was, "but his link up play!" being repeated on here. :icon_lol:

What do we define as a big miss? Is it like Ronny rosenthals big miss or something like a better scorer would have done better with that half a chance? Isn't it a statistical fact that 87%* of goal scorers score when they don't think about it,when they think about it they miss

*may not be a scientifically proven statistic,I could have just made it up

Their stats are a load of hokum and it's a crap resource. Referring to it and using it as evidence is of no value. You now know that at absolute best, their data is wildly out of date so why would you bother?

I know it might be the official site but you wouldn't go to Fifa.com for all your latest World Cup news, would you?

Raul is at the level we are likely to attract at this stage of our development & has not been a failure - workrate is very good & he is on target for about 10 goals (and more assists than that) for the season which is not a bad return, though the inability of others in the forward line to contribute much doesn't help us.

Would be surprised if an out and out goalscorer like Murray would even have that many with us as we don't play that way.

As to 'missed big chances' then unfortunately the other teams tend to turn up with a decent keeper (rather than Leeds bringing Lonergan) & competent defenders (Billings goal line clearance less than 2cms short of a goal on Sunday would have had Coady given freedom of Wolverhampton if he had done that) - both of these facts have an impact.

As said by others if we want a player who contributes the all round game & is also the clinical finisher wanted then we need to go to a much higher cost.

I would have throught that stats about the premier league would be best coming from the premier league! Where is reliable? Who do you use?

Depends what I'm after. Whoscored (if you ignore their ridiculous ratings system) and Soccerway are alright. The FourFourTwo app was decent for a bit but I got rid of it when I had a declutter on my phone, I didn't have any use for it.

Unless you can get hold of the xG for each individual chance - you probably can if you pay for it from Opta, but no-one cares that much - then assessing "big misses" is always going to be subjective and as you can see, they're totally unreliable on the one site that appears to list that stat. In any case, Raul's header on Sunday might have had quite a high xG, but it wasn't really his fault it didn't go in. He didn't do much wrong.

'Big miss' isn't even measurable. What would you use for specification and variables for a 'big miss'?

Goals, assists, cards, passes made, headers won, tackles won. They're all measurable, whether they're useful is another matter, but 'big miss' just isn't a measurable thing.

His xG for this season is 4.87 (link below)! So he should probably have a couple more goals this season, but he isn't that below par. He's performing above his expected assists too according to this:

Great stuff Louie.

That backs up the stuff about Costa and his position:

https://understat.com/team/Wolverhampton_Wanderers/2018

You can slate his output if you really like, but he isn't often in the position to score or assist. His beardy pal behind him is, because we can't trust him to stay wide and provide anything useful.

https://understat.com/match/9325

That shows you the xG of every shot we took vs Huddersfield if you hover over the dots.

Ruben's free kick right near the end was our best chance (by quite a long way) according to xG.

Thanks for that. Using these stats then

Raul should have scored 2 more goals and one less assist
Moutinho 2 more assists
Costa and Jota 1.5 goals each more and 1.5 assists more
