Wolves 0 - 2 Huddersfield: The Verdict.

Would they be six times better though? Seems unlikely. Tbh, it just feels like an excuse to justify the abuse..

Ok, so for balance - Adama is massively shit, but six times more effective than Helder - so that makes Helder, what exactly? Or is Traore exclusively the only shit player we have, as all the focus seems to be on him?

If Adama is 1/10 for 90% of mins on pitch and then 8/10 for 10% that is more effective (in an attacking sense) than Costa’s 100% 6/10. But you can’t get it out your head or understand how a professional footballer in the bloody PL (and record signing!) can be so monumentally shit and look like a sprinter in a charity match for the majority of his time on the pitch.

Well, kind of.

City was a mixed bag, some dreadful stuff and 1.5 decent runs.

West Ham was good.

Burnley was very good.

United was infuriating.

Southampton was incredibly dire apart from the one really good moment...which contributed to a goal.

Only about six minutes at Palace, I think he lost it every time he got it though. N/A

Didn't do anything vs Watford.

Was crap vs Brighton.

Not very good vs Spurs.

Decent against Arsenal although should have scored.

Shite against Huddersfield.

It's not a brilliant track record IMO/IMV.

He's pretty much mirroring the the overall team performance then.

I don't think he should start (yet), but if we genuinely want to change things he does that. You could see that on Sunday.

Oh, I missed off Leicester in the league (I'll do him the courtesy of not reviewing the cup performance).

I'll just C&P the OW bit on him that day.

Those who have the misfortune to talk to me regularly about Wolves will know that I wasn’t exactly 100% signed up to the prospect of bringing Adama here. And that was before he rocked up wearing the world’s worst pair of jeans and a shirt that’s three sizes too small. But he’s here now, so we’ll see what he can do. His 45 minutes here didn’t really surprise me in any sense. There were at least half a dozen excellent runs past two or three players with breathtaking ease. He will excite fans. He will frighten defences. He will win us a high number of set pieces as defenders don’t know how to stop him legally. But he will also take on one too many players a lot of the time, and render that initial run pointless. He will produce a horrible cross from a good position. He will overhit a two yard pass and send it straight out of play. Can he knit it altogether and become a genuinely effective force at this level? We’ll probably get to find out now, I expect him to start next week. In fairness, he should have had at least one assist today.

Absolutely nothing has changed since that day, three and a bit months ago. Except he won't start next week, and it's nearly December.

But again, despite how shit you feel he’s been - he’s still been way, way, way ahead of Helder - your hate for him is over the top, which is fine, you like hyperbole and there’s a fair element of humour in it too - but it’s too one sided for me.

He has huge amounts to improve upon - but our IF’s are there to create and score goals, given we’ve all agreed our centre forward is there to link play and we don’t expect loads of goals from him - he does that more than our other IF’s, and more than our ever present right winger by a street - and yet, week after week, he’s the one you focus on... I think it’s sad.

He has one goal and no assists. Forgive me for not preparing the Ballon D'Or just yet.

Tbf i think there is a lot of focus on justification of Adams's fee. Which is a bit off, since he wasn't *that* much more expensive than helder or Jota, even when we were in a higher division and would have expected to pay more.

Lets be honest Adama is used as an impact sub, he is only that. The elephant in the room is how shit our IF's are this season.
Neither Costa or Jota have stepped up to the PL as well as say...... Matt Doherty, Ryan Bennett
Form is temporary class is permanent? If they dont seriously improve over the rest of this season I see us with our ambition running out of patience
with the pair of them. I know they can play but sorry they look out of their depth especially Helder who was so great in our shit team 2 years ago.
I reserve judgement on Cav but on Sunday I was gobsmacked how bad he was.
We didn't get out thought and our manager didn't get out coached our forwards just were fucking useless and gave the ball away every time they got
it. Why do we go to ground so easily is a mystery Costa looks like a boy in a mans game. Jota at least gets stuck in.
Of course this is all in my opinion but as other people say I see it with my eyes.

Wouldn't be surprised if Costa and Jota are sold at seasons end,if we stay up

Top rant. God only knows what Helder will look like against the thugs and assassins the Cardiff team...

I've been clammoring for Cav's return but holy moly yes he was terrible. He's had decent performances overall though I think, which gives me hope. But if he starts matching performances with our other IF's, good grief we are in trouble.

I do think some of the blame is off of Nuno, as he certainly didn't instruct the players to lose the ball every other touch, and to pass directly to the opposition. But in the 2nd half the criticism is fair.

Nuno: alright boys, lets do ball to our net style!
players: yeahh!!

Cav did put in one wicked cross that was just an inch too high for Raúl. Otherwise, yeah, everything he tried just didn't work. He was at least trying to link up with people but every touch was off.
