Things that make you SAD thread.

Foxhunter groups want to now claim they are an ethnic group and want protection under the equalities act.

Which is ironic as Saint George was born in Anatolia and probably looked similar to some of the people they're vilifying today.
There’s a religious figure with a similar story, what was his name… oh yeah, Jesus.

…and my dad’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Supposedly not aggressive but. Still waiting on the genomic tests.
That's shit Alan, hope it is as they say bud.

Cancer is a bitch

Sorry to hear that, hope its been caught early as its the most treatable form of cancer. My dad was diagnosed around this time last year and had his op on October and has now made a full recovery

He seems in good spirits so fingers crossed. Just feels so shit; he’s worked long hard jobs that he hated for basically his whole life, trying to make sure my sisters and I never had to worry about paying for things like college, medications, etc. He basically put aside everything for the last 40 years or so.

He retired in June and to immediately have this happen… I mean, Dad-Tinted Glasses on, obviously, but it feels so cosmically unfair.

Sorry to hear that Al.
Hopefully its been caught early.
I have 5 close friends who had it, 2 of which were quite aggressive. All diagnosed between 5-8 years ago, all are doing well and living their best lives.

Look after yourself, as well as looking out for your dad @Alan . He'll need you now, but it is clear he's raised a great son!

& I agree with @sycophantia - mrs jelly had cancer over 15 years ago now. Hell, probably longer than that. Thankfully the treatment worked well, and it was caught early. I continue to be grateful for every single day!

Got lectured by a South African today on fair play and losing with good grace. And he was totally right. :(
