The we’ve lost again verdict thread. Liverpool 2-1 Wolves

I think in a lot of ways it's more about who we sell rather than who we buy that effects how next season goes. If we can't find buyers for some of this spineless dross, we'll have to play them!

@Langers We're not even just the worst side in Prem history, we are currently on course to be the worst side in professional football history across all of the divisions, that's around 600 seasons and 10s of 1000s of teams.

Why RE needs binning off as soon as this season is over.
He’s not the man to start a rebuild and apply the brakes on this slide.
Problem is trusting Fosun to get the next appointment right.
Best case I can see for us over the next 5 years is ghost club championship status who may have the odd play off tilt.
Worst case is being stuck in league 1 like Sunderland, Sheff Utd and Derby were.
The only thing I would say to that is this forum was full of people yesterday watching Championship games and saying how shit it was. It doesn't take much to be 'good' at that level.

It's not fair on the fans or generally the club but the bloody-minded, vindictive part of me thinks Fosun, Shi and these players, and all the cunts, yes men and enablers over the past few years deserve to have a 2 point, legendary relegation on their ledger
I can get on board with that point of view, without wanting it to happen, obviously.

We don't have 'much' as it stands, unfortunately

We don't, but we'll have parachute payments, years of PL cash, despite what Fosun say and between now and then we'll sell £100m+ of players. It's not difficult to build a high level Championship squad with those advantages. Do I think we will with Shi, Jackson and Edwards? No. Would it be hard to introduce a level of competence that could? Also no.

What are our players worth?

Will we be willing to make a huge loss on so many of them? Might the club suggest they try and play their value back up (!!) that's what I worry about, as that might see us relegated again.

Andre, JSL and Gomes will go, 100%.

Beyond those 3, who would want our dross unless it's for pennies?

The new arrivals in 2006/07 that got us to 5th in the Championship were:

Neill Collins
Gary Breen
Karl Henry
Jay Bothroyd
Stephen Ward
Jamie Clapham
Jemal Johnson
Darren Potter
Craig Davies
Charlie Mulgrew
Michael McIndoe
Michael Kightly
Andy Keogh

Didn't cost £3m between them.

We lost Lee Naylor, Joleon Lescott, Paul Ince, Vio Ganea, Colin Cameron, Mark Kennedy, Darren Anderton, Kenny Miller, Maurice Ross, Seol Ki-Hyeon, Jeremie Aliadiere, Tomasz Frankowski and George Ndah from the season before.

It can be done, you need people who know what they're doing though.

They'll all be loaned out mainly to the leagues they came from with us subsidising wages. Whoever the manager is, even if that's Edwards will want them gone.

I'd sell anyone we get a non-pisstake bid for in January. I don't care about any of them, we're down anyway and very likely in record breaking fashion, and they'll bizarrely be worth more now than they will be in six months, despite nothing about them individually materially changing.

We've done ludicrous stuff for years and so losing money on players is an occupational hazard I'm afraid. We lost £20m+ on Guedes alone, the fucking cunt. Don't sign rubbish players then.

I hope so.

Last time we went down we tried to find places for some of the toxic, there wasn't a proper "bomb squad" until League 1.

The toxic elements weren't as evident though. Most of us thought your likes of Henry, Ward, Doyle, Foley etc would be fine at the lower level because they were more than fine there before. It was only really Johnson and O'Hara who everyone wanted to bin if we could, and we couldn't.

Now no-one likes any of our players or thinks they'll be worth keeping, bar perhaps Mané and at a push R Gomes.

I barely even followed the game. I watched the darts. A far more enjoyable use of my time.
The darts was on the TVs at halftime in the concourse. Wish I’d stayed down there. Another miserable day out following Wolves. Looking forward to another in three days time. Throughly fucked off with it all now.

We might think that, Jackson, Shi and Edwards might think differently.

Not the point though is it.

In 2012 it wasn't obvious that we needed to get rid of the whole squad, hindsight says we should have.

Now who the fuck wants to keep any of these, no-one. It clearly needs gutting and totally gutting.

I'm pretty sure you don't want to keep any of that starting XI today bar Mané and at an absolute push Mosquera, if we accept that J Gomes, Krejci and André will go anyway.

Sa - garbage all season and regularly doesn't try
Doherty - turns 35 next season, shite
S Bueno - he won't get any quicker in the Championship
H Bueno - wank
Hwang - a joke footballer who had one purple patch
Tolu - think he's been handed a raw deal but he doesn't particularly convince, and doubt he'd want to stay anyway

It is if that's what the people who run the club think, will they be as willing to admit how wrong the club got it?

Fosun at Wolves have a history of getting things wrong and doubling down, see VP and GON contract extensions for details.

Shi 2.0 does not have a clue about football, even less than Shi 1.0 so presumably Jackson is who will be making decisions, the bloke was director of player recruitment before he became Technical Director.

Jackson didn't sign any of these players.

Tchatchoua already can't get a start ahead of shite Hoever and even worse Doherty. That fanny Lopez barely gets a kick and increasingly nor does Arias.

They already know they're crap.

He was head of player recruitment, therefore has some responsibility, it was literally his job title.

I think they're shit, you think they're shit. I am just not as convinced that the monumentally incompetent people that run our club will agree.

Wasn't so long ago Shi was saying what a good window we had.

Also, if we can't find buyers/loaners, will we stick 40k a week Jackson Tchatchoua in the reserves, or will we force him into the team?

Player recruitment has been the main issue for me.
When Wolfe, Tchatchoua, Arias and Lopez can't even get in the team it says it all.
Munetsi? Garbage.
I can understand people clammering for Bellegarde to start recently, but again that says it all, as he wouldn't get in any other decent Premier League midfields.
