The we’ve lost again verdict thread. Liverpool 2-1 Wolves

Is Jackson Tchatchoua our worst ever Prem player (that has played more than 10 games for us)?
I've only been to one game this season, Leeds at home. I sent Deutsch a DM to say he's worse than Zubar...and he didn't argue. That's how bad he is!
If you say positive attributes to play in the PL are touch/control, vision, ability to read the game, passing/crossing, finishing and pace then he has 1 and he never uses it. Not sure we've had a defender at any level we've played at in the last 40 years who is out of position so often, literally doesn't know where he should be on the pitch

Where does/will this rank in our worst season's ever?
I still think the Saunders debacle will top it because you have to be really, really, really bad to go down to League One, and we managed it despite owning the likes of Bakary Sako and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, and the manager who presided over the second half of the season was genuinely the worst in British football.

It's 2nd place comfortably in my time. Can't speak for the mid 80s catastrophes.

(Our) Lowest points tally ever was 21 in 1895-96, but that was only 30 games and two points for a win.
We won't get half that.

For me this worst because it’s being played out for all to see and we lose every week.
The Saunders turd fest was hideous because we should’ve never have been close to going down but at least did experience a win here and there.
I’m at a point where I’m envious of Burnley because they’ve won a few games this season and aren’t being humiliated.
Considering where we’ve been and the platform we should have this is an abomination.

This is easily the worst season in my time supporting Wolves. It's not even close. We are an international laughing stock. It hurts.

2 measly points is an absolute embarrassment. And unless we actually do some decent business in January (very unlikely - and even if we brought in some decent players, there's no chance of staying up) then I can't see anything changing. My current 'best case scenario' is not beating Derby's record. I don’t think we'll get 9 more points. 'Doing a Wolves' is going to be the term for decades and decades when any struggling team is off the pace, ill-prepared or generally bloody awful.

We're the worst team in the history of the Premier League.

Our owners have completely given up and don't seem to care, the players are nowhere near good enough, all unlikeable and will fuck off at the earliest convenience, yet it's us supporters who will really feel the effects of this horrific season. I've said this before but I wish I could switch off from it and genuinely not care. But I can't - it hurts to see the state we're currently in, I was priced out of attending matches a very long time ago, I really dislike everything about Wolves at the moment and I hate feeling like this.

It's an awful predicament, and I don't know when we'll actually reach rock bottom. I don't think we have yet.

If you tried to envisage a worst case scenario back in July, I don't think anyone would have predicted it would have been THIS bad.

Without question, this is the worst season I've experienced.

83-4 came as a surprise at the time, but not in hindsight. We came back up with the likes of Clarke, Palmer Gray, Humphries, Pender, Hibbitt and a top division where promoted teams competed more than they typically do today. What we didn't know then was the Bhatti's had pulled the plug, my username was our marquee signing which says everything.

84-5 for me was the worst of that period, we had zero investment, the legends had left, started to introduce kids that were miles off and a manager who was openly taking the piss

85-6 was similar to this one, just an inevitably about it. Bringing back managers from the past/ones that had previously worked with the kids, signing kids from the Banks' league and playing them in the first team pretty much straight away. Our leading scorer couldn't even grow a proper tash. There was a game against Bristol Rovers at home early in the season that memory tells me we lost 4-3 when being 3-2 up late in the game which broke me. Lost 6-0 away to Rotherham in the FA Cup, the comparison to this year is you just become numb to it and that's when the crowds really disappeared

86-7 had Chorley, but by the end of the season things looked bright despite a player off loss which shouldn't have happened.

Ignoring what’s going on is like trying to ignore the worst tooth ache you’ve ever had, it’s impossible.
If you can dip in and out then good for you but it’s just not that simple.
Being humiliated hurts especially when it’s at a point that people just feel sorry for you.
As @Langers says this season will be like tombstone round our neck for decades.
You can have an attitude of “you don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks” but I do as do most.
Try attracting new young fans to the worst ever club to play in a season.
Doing it in the current premier league when it’s broadcast everywhere you can get 24/7 coverage on the league via various sources is different to when it’s done at a lower level.
Can’t comment on the mid 80’s as it’s before my time but from 87/88-now this is the worst experience I’ve had by a mile.
How can I sum up if I’m away in contract and someone asks me where I’m from and they ask me if I’m a wolves fan I tell them I’m not a big football fan.
1. I can’t bare the sympathy comments or the piss take and 2. I don’t have time tell them the numerous reasons as to why we are where we’re.

Does anyone really think Wolves will survive in the Championship next season? The mental scars of this season and the absolute catastrophe of a playing squad that will be left, won't have the stomach for a fight in the Championship. League 1 might be rock bottom, but I wouldn't be surprised if we sank further than that.

Didn't even celebrate the goal. What's the point? Even just 5 minutes into the second half and only 1 goal behind we know its just a 'consolation' goal.

Note to commentary team: we don't see Rob Edwards as 'one of our own'. We see him as what he is: a hideously out of his depth, Championship/League One nobody who is only here as he wants to watch Strictly with the wife on a Saturday evening.

3 draws and 19 losses in our last 22, national laughing stock, sinking like a stone - Wtf have these wankers done to our club?

I don't think this squad would survive, no. I would expect the squad to be drastically different when we kick off in August. Whether that squad will be able to compete in the Championship remains to be seen. We are going to have to shift a lot of deadwood - deadwood who are picking up a lot of money. And we will have to be smart in the transfer market, which we haven't been for a long time now.

It's going to take a lot of work and a lot of competence to stop the rot. I don't think there's anyone currently at the club capable of sorting out the mess we're currently in.

I said very early on we wouldn’t get near derbys record, got told by numerous people “we aren’t that bad” four days away from January and here we are on two points.
I think we’ll do the double relegation, and would say a triple relegation doesn’t seem outrageous atm, such is the rot at the club.
feel free to take the piss on this statement.

Yeah, you're basically gambling on us somehow sorting recruitment out when we've had one good window (which was us throwing money at Lopetegui) in about the last 10.

I don't want to watch any of these players at any level. Totally shit, don't care or both.

Every chance we'll go down again, but it won't be with the same squad. They'll all be off, mostly on subsidised loans. Johnstone, Toti, R Gomes, H Bueno, Mane if he doesn't do too well, Doherty re-signed, maybe Bellegarde are all I can see left. I think we'll be starting pretty much from scratch and a high wage bill for players not here

It's not fair on the fans or generally the club but the bloody-minded, vindictive part of me thinks Fosun, Shi and these players, and all the cunts, yes men and enablers over the past few years deserve to have a 2 point, legendary relegation on their ledger

Why RE needs binning off as soon as this season is over.
He’s not the man to start a rebuild and apply the brakes on this slide.
Problem is trusting Fosun to get the next appointment right.
Best case I can see for us over the next 5 years is ghost club championship status who may have the odd play off tilt.
Worst case is being stuck in league 1 like Sunderland, Sheff Utd and Derby were.
