"Hey Pep, wanna lend me a hand on getting a better team than you?"

Yeah, I'm sure that conversation would go well.

Saw about that on Blue Moon earlier, their fans are raging at her stupidity

She's had sporting director type jobs. Don't ever see that happening again

Didn't realise she had made her way to Talksport! They do a great job of picking the thickest 'pundits' imaginable to give their horrendous takes. Idiot and a terrible person to boot.
Agbonlahor says hi

She’s a trained lawyer isn’t she? Can’t be thick but can still be incredibly stupid.

Two things.

Pep doesn't buy the players for Man City, that's Begiristain

What she's suggesting is illegal. It's called shill bidding and is prosecutable.

Any half decent lawyer would know that.

I thought shill bidding was when people bid on their own items (or used third parties to bid) to drive the price of an auction up?

That's what she's inferring. Getting a third party to drive up the price.

Yeah but she’s inferring that the buying club will use a third party to drive up the price, not the seller. Which is even more stupid 😂😂

Arteta asking Pep to bid to scare the Arsenal board into making a higher offer. It’s ridiculous 😂

It’s not driving up the price though is it? It’s not an auction. Arsenal are lowballing the asking price and she’s dreamt up some ridiculous conspiracy theory because she’s a bit thick.

Conversely, maybe she’s really bought into the Murdoch school (she gets on Fox Soccer over here so that’s where I’m drawing the line from) and she doesn’t believe any of it; it’s all calculated for clicks, views, and attention. And, therefore, money.

It’s laughable. You want your OWN club to bid more of your budget to force a seller to accept and so ask a different club to put in a higher bid for a player that you then have to exceed? What a heap of fucking horseshit. You would just ask your own board to bid a higher amount in the first place if you have control in order to keep that control.

Well that's what she's inferring.

I didn't say it wasn't complete bullshit or thick.

And if the Arsenal board found that Arteta did make this mythical nonsense call they'd call that gross misconduct and probably fire him immediately.

It's still illegal as it's a shill bid, the fact she's admitted to it on live radio is beyond stupid.

But the shill bid is of benefit to nobody! Man City get no player but are potentially exposed for hiking the price if it ever got out meaning Arsenal might have cause of action. And just to add, what if Arsenal stick to their guns and City are suddenly exposed to paying £90m plus for a player they don’t actually want? That’s going to get people fired too, and the whole deal has to collapse at that point surely which pisses the player and his agent off and still leaves the Arsenal bid in the leading place.

Arteta is right in the legal firing line as such a tactic means the transfer fee to be paid is artificially inflated and his own board have to pay more because of the rival bid.

The whole thing is utterly ridiculous to the point of hilarity. It isn’t fucking eBay
