The Transfer Thread 2023/24 - Everything Not Wolves

Yeah it’s really weird, I don’t think Sheff Utd’s issues are as well documented and I think people think Luton will be tough at their place even though they’ll be miles short quality wise
Teams that should be miles out of their depth do sometimes get a weird bounce - like Blackpool had 28 points after 20 games in 2010/11. Still went down though.

I can't see Luton or Sheff Utd reaching 30 points this time though. Think the gap is even bigger now than it was then and neither have done the kind of business you can see working.

Just put money on these 2 getting at least 3 points from us next season

Spurs reject €100m bid from Bayern for Kane.

Guess he is walking away on a free next Summer then

I think I kind of want Luton to stay up, but I say this knowing I'd be largely shielded from what I can only imagine would be an insufferable media circus were they to do so.

It wouldn’t be like that at all really. Media circus and Luton don’t sit well together. Small provincial club fairytale stories sort of need the town where it’s based not making Salems Lot feel like Bel Air.

I can say this as I lived just outside Luton for years. It’s AWFUL.

I dunno, they loved Blackpool.

I have been to this pub in Blackpool.

Ah yes, The "World Famous" Jaggy Thistle. Many Americans dream of making the pilgrimage.

Media are loving Luton in the Prem because of how bad things seem there for anyone not in a Luton shirt

Anyone would think the away players have to get to the pitch via the away end (see how many times the away entrance is mentioned in any Luton game on TV) and then a shark infested pit before getting changed in a hole the locals use a communal toilet inbetween match days

Kenilworth Road is properly shit (if I'm struggling for leg room then everyone else bar Jinky, Joe Pasquale and Rishi Sunak is too) but I've been to far worse grounds.

Hello The Manor Ground or late 90s Fratton Park.

You have seen the dressing rooms I take it???? Kenilworth Road cunningly combines poor sight lines (if one is generous) with being archaic in a downright dangerous rather than quaint way. And the Bedfordshire Volunteer pub near the away end is like the set of Shameless.

Layer Road was “interesting”. As was Roots Hall.

I'm sure we'll get to hear about every grimy detail of the dressing rooms there if Pep needs to deflect from dropping points against Luton.

City will probably turn up with their own portable changing rooms on the back of a lorry.

Get a team of folks in City branded HAZMAT suits to disinfect the benches prior to arriving, too.
