So a BILLION Euros for one player for one year or football?

Erm.....

Spurs have inquired for Mbappe, behave yourselves lads

Barca going in with a player swap deal as they have no cash

FFP the same as every other club.
Saudi isn't in UEFA, are they? AFC I thought.

Ah, you did say "FIFA should step in". My bad.

Similar point, though. Does FIFA give a crap about FFP?

On what grounds, though?
It would be within their gift to say that if a player wants to play international football then he must be playing for a club that passes basic P&L tests. What Saudi are doing isn't building a competitive league, it's building a rogue league and tbh it can't be allowed to continue. It's writing cheques that can and will literally ruin football

I’m not disagreeing tbf, I just don’t know if the powers that be even have levers in place to curtail it, much less want to use them.

They definitely won't *want* to. They'll claim it's all about globalising the game etc hence the world cup in Qatar which was ridiculous and offensive to the game on multiple levels.

I give it three years before the finalists of the Asian Champions League are invited into the UEFA Champions League. Tbh given its inevitability then the sooner the better. The sooner they're part of the UEFA ecosystem the sooner there'll be a vague semblance of financial fair play. It'll be wank like, in that it will mean Saudi Arabia have used their criminal economy to buy their way out of geography and into established sporting institutions as a way to blind the world to their atrocities. But it'll happen and from a purely sporting point of view it'll be better than the current cluster fuck

I get the frustration to a large degree but I still have to wince at "fold them into UEFA". Not that I think you're really trying to push those buttons for me so I'll just leave it at that.

The cynic in me says this is what we (the West) get for going along with the Saudis and helping them build all this wealth in the first place. Once they became this level of über rich, there was no amount of blood on the bills that would stop people accepting it for themselves.

I don't know where it goes from here and I don't know if there's even a good answer.

Unsurprisingly PSG have accepted the offer, hopefully Mbappe tells them to shovel it, but I suspect thats unlikely.

I'm not sure where this leaves him. It's clearly a sop but it allows sportswashing at a disgusting level.

Explains why we've been clearing the decks
I don't think it's The Price Is Right rules, unfortunately; we can't bid $1 and win.

Forest might be walking away from signing Henderson.
Looking at Turner from Arsenal.

Arsenal looking at Raya to replace him but seems odd they would spend £40m on a back up keeper.
