What the fuck are the Burnley social media guys on? I know they've been bought by Americans, so are they trying to develop some Wrexham style social media buzz, albeit without actually putting any effort or money in?

Messi, Busquets, and now Jordi Alba all playing for Miami. Scenes.

I think Alba is even more obnoxious than Busquets. Two utter pricks, cannot stand them.

They're both amongst my least favorite players, but on some level I still can't believe all this is happening.

Messi is already on a crusade to get grass pitches mandated in the league. It's exciting times.

Nothing wrong with 4G surfaces these days - in fact I wish the Football League would hurry up and mandate them. It's not 1987 any more.

These were an absolute farce.

I don't think our artificial surfaces are that nice tbh.

Pat Mahomes has been making noise about the artificial turf on the NFL side, as well. I don't know enough about how they're implemented, but as another anecdote, the Panthers played a game this season at ~15F, the players almost unanimously complained about the surface "feeling like concrete".

That almost looks like the surface of a track circuit... Yikes.

Won't surprise you to hear that Oldham (who were a very good Championship level team in their own right at the time, with a good manager) had an insane home record for a couple of years :D

The ball bounced like it was on the Moon. Fuck playing in goal on them as well.

Anybody in England tried this trick yet?

It's the Lea Valley Hockey Centre in Elizabeth Park.
Just round the corner from where I work.

What did the local council do when putting new 3G Astro in Leyton? put a hockey pitch right next to it instead of an extra 3G despite a national hockey centre being 2 minutes away..

I was expecting the blue turf to elicit more teeth-gnashing if I'm honest.

It's pretty standard on hockey pitches, I think it works better when televising it somehow.
I'm actually surprised it's not more of a thing in Gridiron, I've certainly seen some funky basketball courts.

Isn't it to do with the ball in hockey, something to do with the players seeing it better against the background.

So, apparently blue pitches are less reflective than green ones, and with yellow balls give the best contrast.
