We are going to extreme levels and giving a decent contract to an ex-player who has no club at the moment. Above and beyond....

In general clubs in England are getting a lot better at after-care of players, particularly in cases of released youngsters. Every club with an academy is given funding for a full time player care role.

United do it well. Palace too have a decent rep for it.

We're good for getting ex-players a first step in coaching too. Rob Edwards, Foley and Olofinjana of our own in fairly recent times, Darius Vassell from elsewhere (quick, very quick).
