The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Did the drive from MD to Ilfracombe in under 5 hours inc a stop. Very happy with that.

Now to drive back tomorrow and hope for a similar time

Ilfracombe my Mom and Dad’s favourite holiday resort, found loads of photos from when I was kid going through the process of clearing my Dads house.

My folks live down here.

To me it's just an odd little town by the sea...and also a free holiday home.

Our holiday every year was the Naracott Grand hotel at Woolacome, photos were generally embarrassing as it was the early 70's

Only delay was a 5 min crawl between the M5 & M6

Do it all again next week

I can remember going to Woolacome, it would’ve been about 1960, great beach.

Nearly 5 years living with Blood Cancer. Being looked after very well by Hereford hematology unit and Guys in London.
Very fatigued a lot (Mrs HW forces me to rest 2 or 3 times a day), lack of sleep is annoying (but good for my talking books intake!), bone pain seems to be worse than it used to be and my oral chemotherapy is increasing every year which has other side effects. Sometimes I have to use a walking stick which can shock my mates, otherwise people tend to say "Don't you look well?" which is slightly annoying (You didn't see me gulping down co-codamol because of the pain at 2:30 this morning!)

Doctors seem optimistic that a medical breakthrough could happen soon due to a lot of research ongoing.
Just hoping its sooner rather than later!

Happy New Year to you all.

Because I love you all, bar the ones on my ignore list obvs, and I’ve had a bit of time off work, Ive done astrology charts for the forthcoming year, no need to thank me.IMG_1553.jpeg

The beauty of book and pay later with free cancellation on Booking.com

Just checked the prices on the hotel we are staying in next month in Bangkok.
Room now over £100 cheaper.
Original booking cancelled and straight back in. Lovely.

Just booked a break for "SpringFest" in Munich for April... £60 each return flights and 4 nights hotel for 2 people for £300.

Really looking forward to this and lining up our summer holiday to Malta next

Some twat nicked one of ours last year (was around this time too), no idea why.

Got replaced inside a week or so though.
Certain estates around Dublin and Belfast they get nicked regularly.
Apparently they burn really well.
Then there's the added bonus of throwing bricks at the Fire Brigade lads as they come to put the fires out....

Done Oktoberfest a number of times and had a blast. Have a great time.

Just realised that if you ignore a poster on here you also don't see threads they have created.

A massive win/win

Finally got the wedding rings sorted last Saturday, I know planning a wedding is a big stressful thing but this just seemed to be one of the biggest things to sort. God knows why spending that much money made me happy but it did.

Really happy to hear this morning my daughter got the result through on her 16th and final AICPA & CIMA exam, and passed!

After 5 years of study, some sleepless nights and a couple of tearful self-doubting calls to her old man along the way, she is now a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Didn’t come easy at all. So proud, but mostly just very, very pleased for her.

You were posh, ay! We used to stay at the caravan site just up the road at Mortehoe in the 60s.

That's interesting! I went on holiday with my Mum & Dad when I was about 10 and we stayed on a campsite near Morethoe. It was full on thistles and was on a bit of a slope So everyone ended up scrunched up at the lower end of the tent. I had to walk throught the long grass and thistles to get a big container of water. Hated it, but did go trainspotting at Mortehoe & Woolacombe station (Got a
on a train once to Barnstaple).
