The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Despite last night:

- I'm healing up well with all the visible stuff. Nearly back to normal
- Nice new haircut, first one since March
- New barbers too which is half the distance away
- Means I'm no longer channelling Richard Stearman, which let's face it would bring anyone down
- Cheekbone is still broken but it doesn't hurt that much any more. I can get back to normal soon
- Lovely new girl
- Back on my writing, the motivation is back (admittedly part of this is due to the point above and showing off while she still thinks I'm talented :D )
- But this cuts both ways, she's given me so much more belief than I had say, six weeks ago. I need that sometimes
- Not let this affect me too much, a few iffy moments but given what an utter mess I was in (and plenty of people on here saw the photos of the full horror show) I've done ok there
- I support one hell of a football club

Attack the day.

Good to read all that Dan,some good stuff going on there :)

Meant to post this, but had a lovely evening with the wife a couple of nights ago. Sat in the music room (ie room without a tv). we put some good music on, and a number of trippy lights I have collected over the years, and just sat having a pleasant chat. She went to bed and whilst having a smoke it occurred to me exactly how happy I was at that particular moment.

We had a similar evening, sat in the conservatory, music on, a cat on each of our laps, the smell of Jerk Chicken wafting in from next doors bbq and it occurred to me exactly how hungry I was at that particular moment :)

Happy plus heavily nervous after the last run of fun and games on the saga that is my house move but been told by our solicitor that the 21st August should be the date for completing the move. Bit more confident on this one as I know the owners of the house we are buying have all but moved out already. All down to the final few legal bits and bobs now.

This whole process start in January!

You should never be envious of me, mate :D

I'm in an epic battle with my mind every single day of my life, there's quite a bit of that which could fall apart at any given moment, and I'm doing my best to get over some pretty nasty injuries. And I sound like a Manc.

You don't want to swap that for what you have, even if it would mean that you wouldn't really like James very much, which probably would improve your life a bit as they are shite.
Grass is always greener isn't it? I wish I could knock together some arguments/text as well as you do (even just on here, let alone your published stuff). I always feel I ain't great with my communications.
I also wish I was able to get served as quickly as you do! :icon_razz:
The James thing might be a deal breaker though. It's very difficult being happy with what we have.

Just the skirting boards to gloss!

NB, no insect bites or acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries were obtained during the process...

I always gloss the skirting boards before hanging the paper, saves a lot of fiddling about.

It depends, I had to emulsion the other 3 walls so decided to gloss last. If I was papering all the walls I would gloss the woodwork first.

You've done an excellent job there leeds! Wish I was as good at diy stuff.

I had to visit my parents to get into their loft for them at the weekend (all done in a distant way, and was given a gorgeous half pound of ham as a thank you!)
Whilst up there, had a rummage, and managed to find my old Roy of the Rivers annuals, and also my Famous Five and Secret Seven books from childhood. All boxed up but in good nick!

So, boxes were removed from the loft, and as the evenings darken I have some stuff to reminisce through.

Only downside is I now need to sort out and tidy the bookshelves to find a place for them, and may even need to be moving some bookcases around...

I gloss everything first on the simple principle that emulsion is easier to get off when you fuck up the cutting in than gloss.

Cutting in a pretty easy if you get a sash brush with an angled head, even for a ham-fisted fucker like me. Edging tools are good but are overkill unless you've got loads to do.

Cutting in is all about the masking tape.

PS good effort there Leeds, nice little job that

So, my Dad was rushed into hospital this morning with an acute infection and arrested once he got there. Not only did the wonderful NHS bods save him, but he's apparently already sat up in bed demanding food, not 17 hours later. Obviously he'll be in hospital for the next week at least, but there's no getting rid of an brick shit house ex-steel worker, not that easily.

Glad he made it, our medical people really are first class, pleased we got them

They're great. The guy pulling the strings is a Watford fan, mind, so nothing's perfect.

I have become a grandfather for the 9th time this evening as my eldest lad (well his wife) had their fourth child, a girl they have named Robyn, weighing in at 6lb 12oz

Time for a celebratory beer
