The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Your wife will take out an insurance plan and claim backing into you was an accident due to her novice driving ability! And then they'll serve chili.

It's the tall skinny 12 year old to his left..

Another one with no shoes or socks on...

Oiiiiiiii..... Cheeky Fooker. I had no shoes and socks on because my legs were aching and we were waiting for our next match

How does chili ever look great? It's not the most presentable dish of all time, it's a mash of ingredients in a stew base... Not being a smartass here, but I'd love to see what you consider a "good looking chili". I serve it with white rice and the chili on top, the chili being a bit more redder than yours because I use 2 tins of tomatoes and a lot of kidney beans. And a few sweetcorn kernels in there too

No! It's either sour cream OR avocado, and I've found that i prefer guac to the sour cream. STOP THE PRESSES: I like it with both....

You are familiar with what melted cheddar looks like, no? It looks... well, exactly like that.

Im familiar with how shit plastic cheese looks when melted, yes. That cheese looks like oily gunk. I use Monterrey Jack, its white and crumbley and is not stringy when melted.

All this talk of chili has made me decide to cook a chili tonight. I will post a picture for you all to abuse just like we have done to t3ch....

I just recently removed kidney beans from that recipe after making it with them for years; not a huge bean fan. It would certainly look "nicer" on a plate with rice.

I'm in the process of making a recipe for a very dark red, steak-based chili.... just haven't had any acceptable results yet.

gasp... How could you?!

I used to lop all sorts of crap into my chili but decided it was diluting the flavor that I'd worked so hard on. I enjoy it with sour cream all the same, so I won't hold it against you. ;)

It was freshly ground cheddar! It's not terribly stringy when mixed in, though it can get like that if you add way too much. Never tried monterrey jack which is unusual, since it's one of my favorite cheeses... I have a new idea to try next time.

I had a fabulous weekend in Oxford with my good lady. Large corner bath, views of the canal, 3 fabulous restaurants and a 9 hour pub crawl, and Sunday afternoon at Blenheim Palace. Could have had a week in Cyprus for what I spent, but it was worth it!

And chucking a handful of cut grass into it doesn't count as 1 of your healthy options either!

My chili: Fry off the onions and garlic with some thyme, add the chillies, and then brown off the mince. Paprika, cumin, ground coriander and hot chili sauce (bought from Mexico), then add the kidney beans. Leave all that to fry off for a while then add tomatoes, bring to the boil and then oregano and fresh coriander to finish it off. Add more coriander just before serving.

You like your coriander then?
