The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Opened a packet of prawn cocktail crisps from Lidl earlier on today which had obviously been filled twice.
Get the fuck in!!

After a fun packed Christmas, our Scottish visitors have gone back North, our other kids/grandkids are at their own homes. It's really quiet, I mean really quiet, looking forward to a chilled evening. Although we still have loads of Christmas treats left I went for sausage, egg and chips for tea and just opened a bottle of Hobsons DHu Stone.
Still basking in the afterglow of last night's match I went to with my 2 lads.
Life is good

Yep glad the big day has gone, and quieter times are back. I'll be off out shortly for a casual game of snooker with friends, and shall be wearing my Wolves training top to rub it into any Man Utd fans faces who happen to be present.

I've had to work today (all WFH over this period) but it's no bother, I actually want to do it and take the responsibility on.

Been a cracking first month, I was extremely apprehensive about how it would go with so long out of the game, but it's gone essentially as well as I could have dreamed of. They seem to like me too.

Not a hope I could have done this 2-3 years ago let alone in the very dark days.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every minute of Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day, it's just quite stressful when you have most of your family round and the success of the big day is on your delivery, even more so for my missus doing the dinner, tbf my 2 boys stepped up and helped their mum out (I was shoo'd out of the way thankfully)

Who on earth needs German translations over the Christmas period?

The FBI at Nakatomi Plaza?

That's brilliant to hear mate, so glad it's going well for you.

I don't do that any more :D

I mean I do work in German for 80% of the day, but I'm in insurance. People always need insurance. Ask Ned Ryerson.

Spent the holidays doing astrology charts for all you good people, feel free to let me know how accurate it wasIMG_2431.jpeg

The girl who I asked for a dance on a Saturday night at the Connaught in June 1971 when she as 16 and I was just coming 18 is 70 tomorrow.
Following a family meal at the Mermaid tomorrow night our Son is driving us down to Heathrow on Thursday where we will spend the night in the Hilton before flying to Barbados on Friday morning for 10 days of all inclusive indulgence.

Plastic bank notes, just felt in the pockets of my swim shorts to find wet Barbadian dollars.
Fuck me the trials and tribulations of being a pensioner. ;)

Bit of a sad git one but anyway… electric toothbrush not charging. Bloody things not designed to be taken apart and repaired, and besides, I’m a bit crap with anything electronic/electrical anyway.

Some random guy on YouTube uploads his attempts to overcome the same issue so decide to have a go. With the phone camera as a magnifier and not really sure what I was looking at, spotted a loose wire to the coil. A tiny little bit of solder later, a carefully reassemble and bingo!

Got to be pleased with saving 70 notes, not to mention keeping more crap out of landfill and that feeling of beating the system too.

I know it’s an odd one but what the heck, you have to take your wins where you can. Well chuffed.
