The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

Also worth considering that Ipswich have won 3 out of 25 games.

Are they really going to win say, 5 of the last 13, realistically?

I know we shouldn't be shopping in this TKMaxx bargain basement for a variety of reasons, but I think as admirable a fist as they're making of it given that some of their players were up against Forest Green less than two years ago, they're not going to do it.
Spot on.
One of those three wins was us at our worst as well!
Chelsea was one of the others and that ain't going to be repeated away.

By contrast with our closing fixtures they have:

Spurs (H)
Man U (A)
Palace (A)
Forest (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Wolves (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
Newcastle (A)
Everton (A)
Brentford (H)
Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)

It's all over for them.

And Leicester's fixtures are harder! :)

No surprise that the media and neutrals want Ipswich to stay up over us, funny the reasoning though that they don’t want the same teams going up and down.
It’s ok that the majority of all the fun stuff is contested by pretty much the same teams for years.
It isn’t some kind of proof that the PL - Champ gap isn’t huge.
We pretty much didn’t start our season until November and are still in a decent position to survive.

27 points would have been enough last season but that was a bit of an outlier, average over the past 9 seasons would be 34

It’s a bit of a myth as well about the 27 points stuff, on paper it’s correct but in reality if Luton were still in the fight going into the final game they probably pick up a few more points simply down to motivation.
It’s probably more like 30 points which in itself is incredibly low.
The next 2 sets of fixtures are of real concern, Ipswich playing Spurs and Man Utd who are both flaky nothing to play for sides.
We’ve got Bournemouth and Fulham, both highly motivated, loads to play for and good sides well coached.

Still very much on a knife edge I reckon, should we have to go into the last game needing something Brentford will probably have nothing to play for and, hopefully, be, ‘on the beach’.

Maybe some Wolves bias here (probably) but added some projections to the chart I posted yesterday:

I'd go:

Bournemouth 0
Fulham 1
Everton 0
Southampton 3
West Ham 1
Ipswich 3
Spurs 0
United 0
Leicester 3
City 0
Brighton 1
Palace 0
Brentford 1

Bournemouth 0
Fulham 3
Everton 1
Southampton 3
West Ham 1
Ipswich 0
Spurs 3
United 0
Leicester 3
City 0
Brighton 0
Palace 0
Brentford 1

That's what I'm thinking, leaves us on 34. Should be enough to stay up. Think we beat Spurs at home, they're crap.
