The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

Sheff Utd just paid £10 million for Tom Cannon. I do not want to be trading seeing Cunha for that sort of signing.

It’s absolute misery as it is. I don’t really think it gets much worse.

I hate the owners. I hate the players. Is finishing 12th in the championship fun? No. Is it any worse than this current shit show with these cunts in charge? No.

I don’t go anymore anyway so I guess my opinion isn’t that valid

It’s a scenario we could all have foreseen 2-3 years ago and the model of become self-sustained. Very noble but a flawed idea in the premier league unless you’ve got a Man Utd style academy from the 90’s.
The idea of buy low sell high on young players will unravel as you’ll rapidly hit a gap when you’re littered with project players and squad players ie what we’ve got now.

The gap between us and Everton looks insurmountable now. And they have a game in hand. What a shitshow.
Yep. Two wins on the bounce for them and it’s basically made it in to a straight fight between us, Ipswich & Leicester.

Sadly, I don’t think we have two wins on the bounce in us. Especially with how low moral will be after we lose 4-5 on the spin in this current run of fixtures. And of course without the owners backing the team.

The next month could put us in track for relegation. How many points are we getting out of Villa, Liverpool, Bournemouth. The next game after that is Fulham which is hardly easy.
Ipswich have saints, Villa & Spurs, the easier 2 at home.
We have to get something from Villa, this bunch trying to retrieve a 4-6 point deficit after losing 6-7 on the bounce makes me shudder.
They’re weak mentally after going behind in any game.
Ipswich are crap as are we but just think they’ll have more fight, desire and be coached better. As we’ve all said the squad is full of players who hide.
To add more happiness Cunha, Semedo will be gone in the summer and I’m pretty sure Jaoa and Andre will want out once they see the exodus, this is even if we stay up.

I mean, we won two wins on the bounce last month, unless you're putting that down solely to new manager bounce.

I agree things get harder the more we lose, VP needs some reinforcements badly as a priority, and from that start shaping a team sharpish that can potentially get points from any game.

He obviously isn't happy with his midfield options, sort that and get a CH to enable Agba to move to a better position and we should be a stronger proposition.

This all should have happened a fortnight ago however

I was going to say this is how we do it, get 1 target early miss loads of others between time then try to bring in a panic signing late on. But at least we tried

If it ends as it is, then this window will have greatly exceeded my expectations.

I think we'll sign a couple like we did at the end of the Summer window 18 months ago. We brought in Bueno, Bellegarde, Doyle and Fernandez all various levels of not being fit for purpose.

Having just watched the highlights of the other premier matches from yesterday, I cannot see anything other than heavy defeats against Liverpool, Bournemouth et al. With the kind of goals other teams are scoring, if I was VP, I would apply blindfolds to all the players and submerge them in a water tank for a week because it’ll give ‘em nightmares. One can only imagine Santi (with his deep-sea diving suit under his kit) trying to outjump Gakpo and Ouattara (the guy jumped about two-foot above Milenkovic for his goal yesterday).

It's beyond comprehension that it's the 26th of Jan and we have signed one player.

If we were 11th that would be fair enough, but erm....!?
Honestly, if I was a player would I want to commit to Wolves? Don't think so. So it probably isn't easy to sign players who know they are quite possibly signing up to play in the Championship. The level of players we really need aren't going to do it.
