The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

We’ve had a 4 defeat losing streak, 5 defeat losing and now another 4 streak and counting.
It’s still January and if this goes to a 6 or 7 game streak it’ll probably be curtains.
Leicester have just won a game after a 7 game losing streak which has taken them out of the bottom three.

It's not over until the end.

I imagine Leicester fans would say the same prior to today too.

I know where you're coming from, we need a catalyst for victory and for me it has to come from the transfer market and/or how VP uses his current squad.

For me, he needs to forget about relying on trash like Bellegarde and Hwang or players like Sarabia and Guedes who give you 1 good game in 30 and sulk through the rest.

I'd be trying to integrate R Gomes and Lima (the latter from the bench) as much as possible from now on. They're young and positive, and do have some quality, so get them into the team.

15 games left and being 2 points from safety v 11 games left and being 4-6 points away and on the back of a poor run is completely different situation.
What might help is that we have the likes of Brentford, Palace, West Ham from March onwards so might have drifted into beach mode. Having said that all those sides just need to do is put in adequate performances to get something off us.

We're not 4-6 points away though are we? You're making a point with a completely hypothetical situation?

Hypothetical but entirely possible, Ipswich are favourites to win next week, we are favourites to lose. Their next home game after that is Spurs

I hate the phrase but I don't think it's hyperbole to say it's a must win game on Saturday.

Read the original post it says “if”
Let’s look at this from an objective manner how many points do you see us getting from the 3? How many do you see Ipswich getting.
If you’re being objective it’s very likely we’ll be 4-6 points adrift it might not happen but that’s all we can base it on currently.

I believe the team they beat was us and we play them after a CL game this week as well so they should cap that off nicely...

I backed West Ham at half time 20/1. Couldn't believe the odds. Lost my bet obviously but unluckily so.
Wan Bissaka got plenty of joy down the right and without Mings in the middle of the back four Villa look susceptible to me in the air.
They're not unbeatable.

We won't have signed anybody by then, that'll be the day or two afterwards. We won't have our best CM, our only competent centre forward will be out injured. The manager seems wedded to a midfield 2, if he continues to show that inflexibility we'll be beaten comfortably

I didn't think we'd beat Man U or Leicester, I thought we'd get beaten 4 or 5 yesterday. It doesn't matter what I think, and I don't see the point in slitting our wrists over hypothetically awful predictions.

And it doesn't seem objective to say we'll lose all of our games because of our form, but Ipswich won't when they have similar form?
