There is such a massive gap between Celtic and Rangers that it will take time to get close to Celtic, let alone overhaul them. Will Gerrard be given the time needed to do that?

Right now, Rangers fans will settle for looking like they could beat Celtic once in a while

As long as he doesn't have them in 4th place and out of the Cups early, might be a good idea to avoid defeats against part timers in Europe as well he will get time.

Decent players just won't go to the SPL. Young prospects from the continent and those who haven't made the grade elsewhere (Sinclair for instance) - that's as well as you'll do. It's not 2001 any more, even if Rangers did have the money then they can't go toe to toe with low-end PL clubs, let alone higher than that.
