The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2017/18

Think that was mutual. He doesn't help himself in that respect, gets very confrontational with the support when there's some vocal criticism.

I'm with Mark on this. He can be incredibly belligerent when strange decisions he makes are questioned. Remember his second season at the Wolves?

I can't imagine it's much fun watching the football he's been serving up at Ipswich over recent years. I know he's not had the budget and he's managed to keep them up, but my god he lives for backs-against-the-wall performances where any hint of an attempt at individual skill is discouraged in case it might put the team in danger.

There's a reason he's divided the fans at every club he's been at. The common denominator is Mick McCarthy.

I see we're being used on Twitter as a reason to not sack McCarthy. The real lesson to be learned from us is not to sack someone too late and not to completely balls up hiring the replacement.

I think there comes a tipping point with many fans with Mick where what was previously seen as dry Yorkshire wit becomes arrogant twattery

Its a shame. I loved the early Mick Years. However football and tactics have changed so much you have to question whether his style will have the success again.

Bang on.

I've not had a problem with a single managerial dismissal during my time as a Wolves fan - the problem has always been the resulting recruitment and the processes (or lack of) that went on after the dismissals.

The smart money going on Leandro Jardim for the Chelsea head coach position during the summer.

I see Albion have sacked Nick Hammond. Think he might regret employing his mate earlier in the season

4 different managers not selecting the guy you brought in as your record signing is not a good look

Niko Kovac to Bayern from next season. Can't see that working out.

Joey Barton will become the new head coach at Fleetwood Town from June

Any sense they will run when gets the cigars out

This was about a year ago:

No doubt he has "grown up a lot" since then (when he was 34 years old) and "learned from his mistakes", so will be ideal to mentor players and educate them in the rights and the wrongs of the game.

The credit I will give him it is that he's spent the last year having a pop at other managers and Talkshite and is now prepared to put his own head above the parapet and have it shot off.

He has a UEFA A licence. That's a step up from Ince. We shall see. I also hugely approve of him starting down the pyramid.

Just been listening to his interview on TS questioning Phil Neville thinking he is entitled to a top job without managing and suggesting he goes down the leagues to earn his spurs

Whatever positives there are about Barton taking this job he'll always have that bellend moment in him

He'll teach them the dark arts

Wenger to leave Arsenal at the end of the Season
