The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2017/18

I know people sniff at xG stats and the like but if you study them, last season was a ridiculous outlier for Reading. They won a crazy number of tight games, teams happened to be profligate against them, they'd score twice with their only two chances in an entire match, etc etc. The stats say they should have been bottom six, not top six.

They were dire at Molineux and even in the midst of our losing run in Feb/Mar, they were fortunate to beat us in a poor game at the Madejski.

Wasn't Al Habsi their player of the season by a country mile?

They were basically Ali Al-Habsi FC last season.

What’s even weirder is that they’re looking at Cotterill as a potential replacement.

Not if it's Cotterill they won't.

At least he’ll have found his level at last.

Pretty sure he has resigned (linked with Oxford job). Lee Bowyer replacing him? Feel for Charlton fans, absolute shambles at the top of their club when they actually have a pretty decent academy set up

Got a few mates who are Oxford fans and they have been saying for a while that Robinson was the big rumour for them. They aren't happy about it

Clement confirmed at Reading, no surprise there.

Mick leaving Ipswich at the end of the season.

Honourable man, from what I read he has made his own, and the right decision.

One of the great appointments.

Why sack him now though and not a month ago? I thought they were hanging on until they were officially relegated (they aren't yet) for contractual reasons.

He's probably agreed to go sooner on the same terms. Everyone, even the deluded Pardew, knows they're going down and the sooner he goes the sooner some poor club will forget he's clueless and offer him a job.

Weird timing. Thought they would just wait til the end of the season... now watch Darren Moore keep them up! ;)
