The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2017/18

Swansea are gone for me. Think Huddersfield will also. Leaves 1 spot between about 8 sides. Southampton shouldn't be anywhere near where they are but need to sort themselves out quickly

Didn't Hughes give Ireland a new contract recently and play him in the FA Cup?

Lambert's mate Percy reporting that he (PFL) is on a £1m bonus to keep them up. He wants Stuart Taylor to join him again, the latter having taken up a coaching role at Rangers in the past few days

Tin tack for Phil "is Andrea Pirlo homophobic" Brown.

Spectacular. Phil Brown really is a colossal belmer.

Watford fire Silva.

Just a short time after rejecting £7m from Everton for him.

Not really, first time they've sacked a manager mid-season isn't it? They have a high turnover of staff but they've generally been on an upward curve in doing so. Read something about them a while back where they basically said that everyone in football strives for a long term Fergie/Wenger style appointment despite overwhelming evidence saying it rarely works that way so they're just embracing short term planning as that's the way most things pan out anyway.

Gerrim in!

I'm absolutely 100% joking of course.

There be a few clubs after him I would have thought

Stoke might be hugely pissed off this morning...

Watford have blamed Everton for ruining their season and making them fire Silva. They feel his head was gone from the moment they went after him....if Silva gave the slightest indication he wanted to speak with them they should have took the £7m offer for him

Robbie Neilson sacked by McDons.

I suspect Watford's drop in form is more to do with Richarlison having his head turned rather than Silva

In the Championship they changed managers during the season several times. In fact, I think in their promotion season they went through the original manager (name escapes me), Oscar Garcia, Billy McKinlay and Jokanovic. But in Premier League they have just replaced them at the end of a season each time.

Could Everton sack Big Sam in the coming days to get Silva? I wouldn't rule it out.

1 win in 11 (or something like that) probably justified with the cut throat nature of modern football.
