The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison for taking part in the gang rape of a woman in Milan in 2013.

Brilliant night at Estadio da Luz last night watching Benfica thrash Setubal 6-0. Met up with Joel from the forum at 4, had coffees and then got to the stadium for 6pm. Kick-off was 8:15 so we spent 2hrs drinking, eating and chatting. Was a superb atmosphere, even though it was a league game.

Benfica totally outclassed their opponents, Setubal going down to 10 men after 40 mins. It seemed like Benfica just walked the ball in to the net after that.

What an absolute legend. Amazing night!

We'll go to Molineux together too, eventually!

Glad you're enjoying the trip, Dub! Brilliant photos.

Welcome, Joel! Did you have any connections to the club before our Portuguese invasion or is this all a fresh hell for you?

Actually, my connection to the club started in 2011, when Wolves was in the premier. I wanted to coach a team that I didn't know about and Wolves just fit, since I really like orange (kit and emblem looked like orange back in FM11) and I really like wolves. Then it clicked. I've been following it ever since, some years with more enthusiasm then others but it's also hard since I can't watch the matches, except for a couple odd ones that go on TV.

Been wanting to go to Molineux for a while now too. Will try this year, taking a shot at it while my girlfriend lives in England (Littlehampton) so I might just take a week off work, go see her and then go up north.

Still a fresh hell, I guess. :) And thanks for welcoming me!

Awesome stuff DDW!

Cheers! Joel sorted me out with a better ticket too, I bought a seat higher up, but he organised it so I could sit with him and his mates. First row pretty much!

Ex-Crawley manager Dermot Drummy has died at 56. Only left them in May of this year.

Apparently, Pardew to be announced at Wet Brom tomorrow (according to Sky Sports)

So it's the Classic in Portugal this weekend, Porto vs Benfica, so they're showing last seasons game on TV. Im watching and I see a little dynamo on the left score a cracker, it's our Diogo Jota! And there's our Nuno on the sideline going mental!

Feels absolutely crazy now knowing they are at Wolves!

Man City filming players coming off the bus are being encouraged to use their spare hand to clap with the persons spare hand next to them. That, with Huddersfield fans being encouraged to shake hands with West Ham fans the other day makes me wonder where supporting a football club is going.

Major announcement planned at 4 by a Blues blogger about the Blues ownership

More info here: http://bcfcforum.co.uk/topic/30164390/1/

Had a look at that, one of the people connected with them,is a major gambler, and the author of the article infers the blues could be being used to launder money, was my take on it,others on that thread go off in other directions,as is usual on forums

The handshake thing is a nice gesture. The hand clap thing is just cringey.
