Hannover in 2nd right up Stuttgarts arses. Drew 2-2 yesterday.

I need to go to a Hannover game some time, their stadium looks amazing. What are the attendances like for clubs like Stuttgart, Hannover etc in that league?

Massive. No real drop off since they went down.

I'm gonna definitely try and attend a couple of Bundesliga games next season I think. Probably in August/September before I'm back in uni, any ideas on best places to experience?

I was supposed to go to Hannover vs Leverkusen last season but the game got moved to the Friday night on short notice and I went to Arminia Bielefeld vs Kaiserslautern instead. It was a meaningless 2.Bundesliga game but it was still amazing. Just pick a game and go, the support for every team (outside the crappy clubs like Hoffenheim, Ingolstadt, RB Leipzig etc) is incredible.

I'm obviously biased but HSV or St Pauli, just be aware that the latter don't really play at home on a Saturday very often.

If you need a tour guide my rates are very reasonable :)

Lower than that on the whole I'd say. There are some big names but they never carry the kind of squad that the likes of Newcastle have done when they've got relegated, and there are some legitimately tiny clubs in there (Aue, Würzburg, Sandhausen etc).

The English pyramid is unparalleled for strength in depth anywhere in the world IMO. But then we don't have teams who can compete at the very top end of European football at the moment so swings and roundabouts.

Im hopefully doing Hertha or Union next season. Plus Im in Budapest in September so hopefully can pick up a couple of games in the 10 days Im there. Got a decent choice, Honved, Ujpest, MTK, Ferencvaros. Not going to do Vasas as its a pain to get too by bus.

Newcastle and West Ham have been raided by HMRC with Newcastle chief exec Charnley arrested.

I did Hertha vs Moenchengladbach last autumn. Just awesome - apart from the fact that Berlin is a great city, stadium is easy to get to by public transport - which is covered by your entrance ticket to the game - , loads of atmosphere in the stunning Olympiastadion, great value tickets and beer sellers that come up and down the aisles.

oh and Salomon Kalou scored a hat-trick.

I loved the Olympiastadion when I went a few years back, as you say great atmosphere, easy to get to and a really nice setting around the ground too, I wasn't as sold on the rest of Berlin though personally.

Burnley midfielder Joey Barton has been banned from football for 18 months after admitting a Football Association charge in relation to betting.

Truly heartbreaking news.

Neil Taylor gets a 2 game ban for his leg breaking challenge on Seamus Coleman

"I am very disappointed at the harshness of the sanction," says 34-year-old Barton. "The decision effectively forces me into an early retirement from playing football."

He should stick a tenner on it.

Awwwww what a shame, tool. Shouldn't have been such a greedy fucker then and be content with your £50k per week for kicking a football

In all seriousness, I've no sympathy for Barton whatsoever but I would like to see less betting companies involved with football, and the industry as a whole to have a less prominent role in the game. Because it's totally unavoidable - it shouldn't be on shirts and it shouldn't be thrust in your face constantly. It's too much and there's a degree of responsibility needed IMO.
