In YOUR opinion.
I disagree. Especially the racism bit. I don't remember what you're on about at all.
Completely unfair. Just because I have a different opinion to you about the punishment and stigma men get in such crimes. I've never disputed the actual offences, just social perceptions.Your sexism is basically "she deserved it style" posts. And you just never see it. In MY opinion.
So your failure to understand that racism is entirely within the eye of the beholder in law is hardly a shock.
Even if the journo didn't mean for his comments to target Barkley's race, any time you're making monkey comparisons you must be aware of such things.
The fact is that black and mixed individuals have been compared to monkeys for something like hundreds of years. It behooves white people to be sensitive to this.
One wonders why the comparison had to be "a gorilla at the zoo" when it could easily have been "a plumber who can't be arsed to get his tools out of his truck".
Good. I have no real reason to hate them other than I used to have a manager at work who was a collossal arsehole and he loved them, so I in turn now despise them!Coventry relegated to league two

You're right. He definitely should have been more sensitive to the comparison. It's not even an accurate slur either, as gorillas are quite clever in comparison to most animals. However if he had said the same thing about say, Wayne Rooney, no-one would have made such a fuss. As it turns out people have pointed out that Barkley's grandad was black, so therefore it must be a racist comment.
And I had no idea that Barkley had black ancestry either, so it's not surprising if Mckenzie didn't. He doesn't strike me as the sort of bloke who does any actual research on people.
