The F1 Thread

The view from Gasly's car you can just about see the lights on the back of the vehicle moving the Ferrari

Cost cap results just in.

Teams in compliance: Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Alpine, AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo, Williams, Haas

Teams in procedural breach: Aston Martin

Teams in procedural and minor overspend breach: Red Bull

I wonder what will happen next?

£7m fine and 10% reduction in wind tunnel time for Red Bull

Merc and co will be thinking an overspend is fine then if they can produce a title winning car as the prize money etc covers the fine.

Wind Tunnel punishment is a bit low, was meant to be 25%. They will have a reduction of tunnel time anyway next season as they are the constructors champion and that comes with reduced time.

Toto speaking this week saying 3rd place won't be a bad finish for them as the increase in tunnel time will be pretty good for them, especially as they are binning a lot of the car design from this season.

Overspend of £1.8m of which £1.4m was because someone doing their accounts didn't do a claim for £1.4m in tax rebates properly (guessing a now ex-employee of Red Bull or whoever they use to do their tax shizzle)

I think Merc really missed an opportunity to go Medium-Soft, and maybe even leave Russell out as long as it took to slow down Max a little if necessary too. I retain a little hope the Red Bull tyres give in, but doubtful

Yeah Danny Ric showing Merc missed out by not going Medium/Soft

Was just going to say same thing. Made no sense that the red bull could do a million laps on the medium whereas the Merc couldn’t/didnt.

The only thing I could make of it was RB were going to stop again. Isn’t the case so yep makes no sense. Could have at least done something different with one of fhem

When they decided to bring Lewis in, it felt wrong straight away. If anything, they could've split the cars. Genuinely think they threw away a (close) win today

Amazing, great to see. However if anything puts a nail in Mick's Haas journey, that might just be it - qualifying dead last when your other driver gets/flukes poll.

Instant karma for Ricciardo, nudges Magnussen into a spin and then gets wiped out himself as the Haas whips around.

Carnage!

Safety car finally clears from the previous incident then we get Verstappen and Hamilton trading hits it carbon fibre in the 2nd corner and then Leclerc ends up in the barrier after tangling with Norris.

Max in being a cunt shocker.

Asked to let Perez get ahead of him on the final lap to grab extra points in the battle for 2nd in the Championship....essentially tells the team to fuck off. His radio response is all but him saying "I decide what happens, not you"
