The Definitive TWF Worst Wolves XI Thread

I thought Osborn was quality in his first season. He then seemed to remove all of the attacking elements from his game and got worse each season.

Very true. In his early career he looked really quite good - by the end he was as rubbish as those around him.

Gibson
Atkins
O'hara
Ferguson
Gooding
Samways

Mick Gooding, scored loads of goals for Peterborough from midfield, adding him to Bull, Mutch and Dennison was going to be obscene and then it wasn't.
Nice to see another Vinny vote

Ferguson (votes for this a-hole should count double)
Corica
Olafinjana
Carl Robinson
Atkins
Osborn

So many of these guys were around at the same time. We've assembled some truly awful midfields over the years. I'll probably have some sort of breakdown when I properly see Neves in there.

Osborn should be nowhere near this list (probably my bad memory of him, but I loved him as a teen)

Carl Robinson is forever absolved for that sublime pass to Don Goodman at Elland Road.

Even Ferguson made the odd good pass....

Robinson was also the victim of one of the worst 'tackles' I've ever seen at Molineux. Bully got sent off for his reaction to it.

That was a cracking game - Simpson's mega lob IIRC.

Douglas Freedman's debut. Ah, what could have been.

And yes, we even showcased a good Ferguson pass earlier in this thread. Video evidence and all, it happened.

Yeah, but there was something special for me about that goal 😉

I hated Simon Osborn. I could count his good games on one hand. He was a poor mans Paul Cook.

The problem is if you're comparing him to say, Olofinjana (which is fair I think, because I hate* Olofinjana)...Seyi infuriated me way more than Osborn. When Osborn was bad he was just nondescript, and yes it happened way too often given he cost decent money and was always first choice for 4-5 years. When Seyi was bad...well fucking fuck me, as one of my most used GIFs says. He was atrocious.

*I don't really hate him. He's a lovely guy. I did hate watching him play though. We saw him in the warm up at Bala last week, he's still rubbish.

What were the games Quashie played? Were any on TV? I seem to remember seeing him but I'm not certain!

Reading (A)
Coventry (A)
Burnley (A)

I think. Defo none on TV

Think I was about 12 when he signed for us, probably my poor memory but remember I used to like him - maybe because I was a poor CM also

In which case I couldn't have seen him in (in)action as didn't go to any of those (your memory is more likely to be accurate than mine)

False memory syndrome in action again - though he still stays in my list as he wasn't good (& I can't be arsed to edit it anyway)

Yeah I was at the reading game, believe it was him and Karl in CM for a table topping clash in which Neil Collins scored an OG right at the start, nothing happened after that and Mick had an epic post match interview meltdown.

I remember listening to that one on Wolves player. Felt/sounded like leroy Lita kept the ball in the corner for the last ten minutes. And yeah - Mick's post match interview is the stuff of legend.

Big Neill got sent off near the end for telling the lino to get to fuck. Barely played again after that.

Remember that clearly which is why I was convinced that I must at been at a game he played in - clearly struggling to differentiate between reality & Season's DVD montage

Was that Coventry match when SEB missed a last minute penalty? If so, I was at that one.
