The Definitive TWF Worst Wolves XI Thread

Fair comment. I will delete my post.

I have had enough of people always picking on me. I have more than enough on my plate without bothering about a forum where I am not welcome.
Frank, yes the first part was a little bit of mild criticism, just because we have had so many awful central midfielders, particularly in the mid 90's and you chose someone who played 3 games none of which you saw. Surely you can see the second part was jocular? I've said before I don't agree with you picking players from that era, but it's your right to do so and won't criticise you for it.

Carl Robinson was basically Edwards with less of an engine, he was shit.

Final list, I think, although there's a whole load of dross I can't believe I've left out.

Steve Corica
Robin van der Laan
Andrew Surman
Mark Atkins
Isidro Diaz
Tony Dinning

I'm still the only one to vote for Vinny Sideways, I'm surprised my that. I think we signed him at the same as RVDL and thought he was worse

Somehow forgot Anderton so had to get him involved.

Nope - Samways arrived with Osborn in 95/96. VDL arrived with Dowes in 96/97.

Jamie O'Hara
Darren Ferguson
Nigel Quarshie
Eggert Jonsson
Tommy Rowe
Darren Anderton

Did see them all play albeit only once in some cases which is why O'Hara gets top spot as saw him more often & he was always rubbish in the games I saw

Oh OK, memory is shot, at least I was only a year out. I hated Osborn, when the going got tough he got going, others loved him though - probably the Wolves player that divides opinion as much as anyone. I'm still convinced that those that liked him only did so because he wasn't Atkins, Corica, Sedgley or Ferguson.

Started ace, went shit. That's my memories of Simon Osborn

I liked Osborn but it probably was for the reason you mentioned, he was the only one of that sorry lot to at least try to play a bit of football. In his own right he wasn't great (scored two great free kicks at Bramall Lane though, in separate games - and it was his ball to Bully for the Blues 1996 goal).

I thought Osborn was quality in his first season. He then seemed to remove all of the attacking elements from his game and got worse each season.

Carl Robinson brought absolutely nothing to the table. Tackling, passing, vision, goalscoring, leadership-none of it. Says a lot about Wolves that he's not an automatic pick for this team.

Osborn could at least claim to have a highlights reel. He was way better than the shite surrounding him.

I saw him score a 30 yard volley vs Tranmere :D

He wasn't a bad finisher, in that respect he was better than Dave. Just didn't try as hard so didn't get in the right position as often.

I think that's fair, he's not made my 6, but not being as awful as others isn't really much to shout about

I think he scored a late winner away at Swindon. We've had far worse than him.

Robinson was also the victim of one of the worst 'tackles' I've ever seen at Molineux. Bully got sent off for his reaction to it.

That was a cracking game - Simpson's mega lob IIRC.
