Summer 2020 Transfer Window (Extended Version)

That has been said from the start, but if the player wants to leave then Arteta's hands are tied. The issue is the fee. They want £20-25m for him. We don't want to pay much more than £15m. Or at least that was reported to be our opening offer.

Ultimately we'll never know what's going on with negotiations.

Arsenal probably want to keep him but of course everyone has their price. If we pay 25m that they want for him - 10m more than Doherty then we have been mugged.

Getting close to suggesting to the other Mods/Admins that we close this thread for a bit. The discussion is beyond tedious.

Sure, we don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors but the season starts in two weeks and without Doc we go in to the season with one fit wing back who was on the bench last season. Thats called going backwards. How anyone can defend that is beyond me, yet I’ve seen about 30+ pages of people arguing otherwise.

The sooner we make a fucking signing or two, the better. With this ongoing situation and the panning of the new away shirt, it hasn’t been a good week for Jeff.

Blimey, Jinky, if we closed every thread where we disagreed no thread would make it past page 2. The reason this thread is getting tedious is that there's no new players coming in. Personally I'm pinning all my hopes on page 111 now

People disagreeing isn’t the issue - it’s the fact the conversation has gone around in circles for about 30 pages (sprinkle a bit of cock waving in on top from certain quarters to add to the nauseam).

As I say, sooner we sign a player the better!

You'll be told to fook off.

yes the discussion is boring but the easiest way to avoid it is not read it until a player signs.....so 3rd October.

"Wolves target Valencia right-back Thierry Correia"

This lad any good?

Ah, the ol’ “don’t like it, don’t read it” line :icon_lol:

Jeff will be bringing out the “don’t like it, don’t watch it” line when Adama picks up an injury in training and we start with Oskar Burr v Manchester City.

It hasn’t been discussed much, but even if we *do* sign a new RWB before the season starts, I highly doubt whoever it is will start as we all know Nuno likes players to settle and learn the system. So we should all get used to the idea of Adama starting the season at RWB ASAP rather than burying our heads in the sand.

Yeah, take the last part of what I said and realise it wasn't serious...

As for Nuno not dropping players in. Leo barely had time to to get drop his suitcase off and he was playing v Boro. As for burying heads in the sand, might want to get over yourself there, plenty have been saying on this thread they expect Adama to start there (watch Nuno fuck with us and play Buur...)

My comment wasn’t entirely serious either, mate.

But at the risk of adding to the tedium of this thread, I’ll bow out now.

Adama pocketed Sterling at RWB last season and we kept a clean sheet in the process, so...

Adama is no RWB. You could stick him there occasionally for a specific purpose or in an emergency but he's not great there at all.

So it’s all part of Jeff’s big plan then?

I'm just being a prick picking up on your unfortunate example :boxing:

I agree with Deano and probably most others on here - he's no real option at RWB.

Ideal for Sheff Utd and Man City games then...

If he is still only our only option after that, I think we move to the level above emergency

Not really ideal. Someone said earlier when you're missing out on Europe by the margins we did every point counts.

Not really ideal. .

Obviously it isn't but have to presume a plan is in place since Doc all but out of here (and I refuse to get angry/upset/shouty about stuff I have zero clue about). If we get someone in for RWB next week, then we have our starter instead of Adama.
