Summer 2017 Window Thread

I'd have Afobe back. He never made any grand sweeping statements about staying at the club, in fact he was quite open about his ambitions to play in the Premier League.

He did do an unfortunate amount of badge kissing but that's not really something that gets me wound up. It's just how he celebrated sometimes and just because he left Wolves doesn't mean he didn't feel a strong attachment to the club.

Kightly however was a right wee scrote. We plucked him out of non-league football, give him his big chance at a higher level, stuck by him through a series of long term injuries and then he fucked off as soon as we were relegated.

I'd be happy if Afobe came back. Class player and was shafted and publicly humiliated by Moxey and that cunt Thelwell. I'd happily swap him for the ferret faced fuck we have as DoF.

Afobe back would be OK (as long as we paid a lot less than we sold him for as have to get something from Bournemouth after the incidents in their promotion season)

Any other ex Wolves - no ta

I'd take Tom Huddlestone back and maybe Friend and Shackell too.

I don't get the Kightly hate at all, yes he said he was staying but so what. I'm not having the we stuck with him through the injuries either as i'm pretty sure it was our medical teams fault along with Mick as to why he was out so long. I don't want him back, we can do much better but for a forum that's usually quite reasoned and sensible the Kightly stuff is bullshit. Pretty sure he mentioned in an interview when we played Burton that there was more to it and i tend to believe him plus the squad was full of absolute bellends so i don;t blame him for wanting to leave.

I'm not quite at Lemonjelly levels of Kightly hatred but I certainly don't want him back. I absolutely loved him when he was here and still hate the way he left us.

I wouldn't want Afobe back either. I know it can't have been fun for him in that awful Jackett team but there was still something rather unpleasant about the way he left.

Huddlestone isn't a bad shout actually. Might want to leave Hull as they are a mess.

I think the Kightly hate, which I share, is because he was held in higher esteem by the fans than probably any other player since Bully so the standards he is judged by are higher and the let down greater. He was the lad that came from non league, did loads of work in the Community, came across as very humble and had a connection with the fans. To then act like just another mercenary shattered those views, the "we owe the fans" line is pretty standard after a relegation, but with Kightly you really believed him. As the saying goes there's a thin line between love and hate.

You sum it up very well TT.

On a football basis I wouldn't have him back. Legs are going and we've got far better current wingers.

i know the def work is like mr Gloves but still, good skill.. :)bet saville couldnt do that

that #64 tunnel is just ace

Like i said though and like he did allude to in his interview i think there were other circumstances. Maybe when he gave the interview he meant every word but things changed. I doubt any one on here actually knows what really happened, i just find it a bit sad really that it's come to the hate.

at 94-95 the tunnel was almost better

I don't want Kightly back because he's no longer good enough.

He was a dick about how he left but if he were still the same player I'd take him back in a heartbeat. I'd take Afobe back too even if I do think he's a self-righteous prick.

I'd give my arms for Huddlestone tbh.
