Summer 2016 Window Thread

Our involvement with him has so far seen us acquiring talent that apart from the odd exception, we have been starved of for a while.

Pretty much every transfer in football involves agents in some way - just so happens that some of our transfers involve on of the most powerful agents currently operating in the game at a global scale. Whether agents hold too much power in football is a legitimate debate but their presence and influence in the modern game is a given.

We are currently owned by a very wealthy (and powerful) company and are working with a very wealthy (and powerful) agent. There will be consequences. I guess we can forget about player loyalty because there will always be somewhere else for our players to go, but likewise we will be a place where players come from elsewhere.

Fosun didn't buy Mendes' company Langers, they invested a small stake in it.

Still means he'd rather keep them sweet than piss them off though.

It also means that we get a discount to agent fees paid to the tune of the investment percentage as we would effectively be paying ourselves. Mendes fees are cheaper for FOSUN than any other player in the market.

Ta - wasn't 100% sure of the particulars.

Anywhere between 5 and 20 percent depending who you believe.

Plus every time Gestifute earns big fees, we earn too. So if Cristiano Ronaldo signs a new bumper Real Madrid deal, wolves would actually indirectly benefit.

Really? How does that work then?

Just dividends off their investment?

I've no idea whether Fosun get a discount on Mendes' commission.

But I'm fairly sure they will get free pies.

In Fosun we trust. Never mind the Golden Tit or Bob the Builder, Fosun are Santa Claus on steroids.

As a shareholder you would imagine their investment would involve dividend payments. Of course FOSUN get them rather than us directly or it starts looking a little shady!

Mino Raiola wanted £25m for the Pogba deal didn't he? Mendes is involved in a huge number of deals each year and FOSUN are going to be getting a percentage of that or why bother?

I wouldn't have thought so. Fosun will earn as a parent company as they own Gestifute but as far as I know Wolves are a company within the Fosun group so not directly linked to Gestifute.

Hence indirectly. Stick Gestifute on the shirt next year (or indeed FOSUN) for a nice fat fee and it becomes a bit more direct.

Jeez, we've got billionaire owners prepared to splash the cash and one of the top, if not the top, agent in the world who has access to the best players out there

How could that scenario possibly be any better?

I'm all for that! And shouldn't you be by a pool sunning yourself beer in hand?

I am. Free Wifi and the kids have gone out with their mom so I finally got on the iPad
