Southampton 2 Wolves 3 verdict thread

Imagine wanting everyone to have the same opinion and reaction to everything. Why bother having a forum? One person posts the official approved message and we all just upvote.

Are you being deliberately thick? Yet again you take everything to the extreme - nobody is talking about everyone having the same opinion. Please stop your chronic exaggeration.

Pretty much this. I used to have a rule to ignore match day threads as it’s used as a place for people to vent / panic / etc during a game. I should stick to that really.

Yeah, I tend to stay away too, but even watching on TV I find it easy to get OTT critical when we don't play as well as we can. But in truth, every time we take to the field we're faced with 11 players good enough to be in the best league in the world. We can't expect just to steamroller everyone, or even anyone. The lads are 11 human beings, not robots. (Or this year's Liverpool.) To err is human. Happens to every team, every week. Plus we've been missing our best defender for what seems like forever. Not surprising we let in more goals than we would have had he been present. And every commentator except DW thinks we look a bit tired, and rightly so, all things considered. So I do try to bear these things in mind and be a bit philosophical about it, and when I do that I realise actually what a bloody good side we are, to be able to have done what we have done so far this season and still be in with a shout of top 6 and the EL, and a whisper of the top 4. Like others, I'll be watching on Thursday believing we can get something out of the match and, when I think about it, that's really quite fucking remarkable.

It’s difficult to keep things in perspective during a game, particularly when watching tv. I don’t really have a problem with people venting; my particular bug bear is I really don’t like the need to level insults at the best players I have ever seen in a Wolves shirt, but each to their own I guess.

I will reserve the right to moan like billy ho when we are not playing well and when we are gifting goals. I will also be the first to eat pie when we turn things around like yesterday.

This whole “poster bashing” thing needs to stop whenever someone says something critical.

Yet you let people post like this ? It doesnt matter though it's Monstrum, so people can be as rude as they like ?

You forget wee Jimmy's only talking about himself.

If you treat Jinky as the little Napoleonic embarrassment he is you'll feel much better about it.

Even mods can be total wankers.

What a load of shite. Apart from the last line.

So not a load of shite then. Or did you just disagree with the beginning of the post?

I've read your matchday ramblings and whine enough on this forum that you're only happy when Wolves are losing.

Pathetic.

Calm down guys. Let's try and be nice (ish) to each other please.

Second that - registered on here rather than elsewhere as it seemed a more adult place to have reasoned discussions.

The matchday threads are slightly excused as we all get caught up in the moment - you hear far worse in the stands at matches, though thats only by the few around you not global.

We will almost all have been in league 1 & a fair few will have seen us virtually out of business & at the least at the bottom of the league pyramid.

I am old enough to have seen really good Wolves teams before, but this one is still better than anything I have seen (the 59/60 team might have challenged but tbh thats too long ago for even me to remember & conditions are very different now).

Can understand the matchday threads going awol, but it shouldn't carry over into anything else.

As someone else that was at the game and someone that was very frustrated at half time i also agree with others that were there in that we weren't actually that bad. We were the better team early on until the goal, had chances after the goal and right up until half time. We didn't play well and some individual players had very poor first halves but Southampton weren't really in control but that do have very good delivery in to the box. I still feel certain players are feeling very tired and in particular i would say Doc, Donck and Raul. All 3 improved in the second half especially Raul who was outstanding for me in the second 45 as he somehow managed the gather the energy to hold the ball up, get into spaces he wasn't getting in to in the first half and finish off his 2 chances.

The change of formation to go more narrow and get Neto and Adama closer to Raul worked and while we weren't great in the second half their quality won us the game. All 3 combined in some way for the first 2 goals and then Raul combined with Adama to score the winner and it just showed how dangerous they are and just the overall attitude of the squad. If we can get a couple of additions and get Jota and Boly back with the 2 rests we've got either side of the Utd game i see no reason why we can't push on in both the Premier League and the Europa League to finish top 6 and make the latter stages.

Away from the actual match action i have no idea about the match day threads as being at the games i don't read them and see no point in reading them after as i've seen everything but the verdict threads can be pretty embarrassing imo. Grown adults resorting to insults about stuff that really isn't that important.

Ok. Whatever you say. You don't know me and don't know what I think.or believe so do one you total piece of ****.

You are the most arrogant and obnoxious person on this forum and it would be a far better place without you. So please, do everyone a favour and **** off.

Had another look at Long's goal and there was no way Donk was getting to that but I wouldn't argue with his or Coady's positioning. It was just one of those crosses that was centimetre perfect, where everything fell into place for them. It was Coady's ball and he nearly got it. Just one of them all teams (even the good teams) concede every now and then.

Just chill out - this is merely a forum & not real life & not that important really.

People post on here differently to their real life persona

Which frankly isn't an excuse. I'm with Dire Wolf on this one. *faints*

Shall we get back to discussing the game for a few posts at least. Ta

Of course Kenny.

I was at the game yesterday and actually ended up stood next to a Pompey fan, right next to the barrier in the corner. When we scored the 3rd goal he whipped out his cock and started windmilling at the Saints fans.

Hope that's raised the tone for you.

Was there genuinely any need for this?
