Relegation 24/25 Thread

The ghost club status is my biggest fear, I don’t envisage us slipping through the leagues I do however see us becoming a championship club that comes between 10-18th yearly, you barely notice them unless you play them and you can barely name one of their players. Fosun are primed for allowing us to drift into that status, don’t want sell, don’t want to invest but want PL football but can’t understand why it never happens.
Relegation happens, problem is I’ve got zero confidence that Fosun will know how to manage that scenario correctly and will waste parachute payments.
There’s no such thing as being an established Premier League side it’s just clubs who’ve been it a long time.

The only counter I'd have to that is that you really don't have to be very good to finish in the top 6 of the Championship.

Albion certainly weren't last season and they managed it.

I think employing a half decent coach gives you a chance, again it’s something I’d have zero trust in them doing or keeping happy long enough that they stay.

Pretty much what the Accountant said might happen if they can't find a buyer.

Yet Stoke haven’t finished in the top half in the five or six years since they were relegated.

Stoke are a financial ghost ship as the Coates family have stopped putting money in

Money goes in, bar 1 year for FFP reasons, Obviously they could afford to throw mega money at the club but not a gamble they want to take, but they are in a cycle of.

Employ Manager
Let him sign 15 players as those inherited don't fit in
Inherited players won't leave as their wages are good
Atmosphere at club shit
Results at best meh
Sack manager after a couple of transfer windows
Start process again.

Looks to me like Fosun see trading players like horseflesh as the most lucrative part of the business. Doing that while maintaining PL status would I guess be their ideal, but Lord knows what they’d do in the Championship. Hopefully invest to chase the added value from the PL but if it’s just to sit on the asset and trade players for profit again and again it’s hard to see a way out of that spiral.

No, they had huge financial fair play issues so were unable to put more money in.
I think you will find Denise actively pushed that too. Shall we say, the Coates family aren't exactly on the Oatcake christmas card list

The writing has been on the wall for awhile, a bit surprised it's more this season than next but it's been coming. They didn't back Nuno in his last season when we were 13th. I'd imagine we'd all take that position in the league now. Their ambition and direction since has been all over the place. Inevitable.

One for the preferring the Championship brigade. Only 5 of the 12 games this weekend are kicking off 3pm Saturday.

Some clown on Facebook telling everyone it’s all winnable from now until Boxing Day, just pointed out that last week fits into the winnable category, apparently Palace are in a false position. I pointed out that they had 2 players out and that if that’s now to hard we’ve basically got less than 6 winnable games.
Anything for an excuse, it’s ok to say things have been a bag of nails for a long time and GON has to pay by losing his job.
