Palace 0-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Would have no problem if Nuno decides to name the same starting eleven for the next 2 games to make it a round figure - but we do have others who can come in & really contribute

Not something we have had for a long time

Watford & Brighton - just get ready for the Pack!!

Regarding Jota: form is temporary, class is permanent.
People were moaning about Costa last season after he came back from injury, he's now playing fantastic football again.
These lads are quality players with a great attitude, Diogo will win us a game sooner or later, maybe on a day when Helder's struggling. Great 3 away points today.

In Nuno we trust, such a great manager and person..I believe that the defensive players and especially the back 3-5 players should stay the same for most weeks but others can rotate more

thought Rui was a strong contender for MOM too. made several saves to keep us in the match.

Jota seems to be polarising opinion on here at the moment, and I'd guess it's a sort of glass half full or half empty situation. I've been a bit disappointed in him lately, but that might be because he hardly put a foot wrong last season and I'm expecting the same of him every game this season too, which is a bit unfair. Others are maybe seeing all the good things he still does and overlooking the odd lapse into mortality. To be fair, I can only recall a couple of misplaced passes. He didn't do much more wrong than anyone else in a gold shirt today; I'm just used to outstanding rather than merely good. (It was still frustrating when he spannered that chance into the crowd though :).)

As a point of interest when big money arrived at Man City in 08/09 they had 10 points after 8 games.

Well that's a bloody good result. Well defended. Cody or Boly or Doc motm for me. I was late in as I was getting my Wolves badge tattoo in Brighton! I love it

My thoughts on today:

- Moutinho was imperious with and without the ball

- Boly won everything in the air

- Coady tidied up incredibly well at the back. Reads the game brilliantly.

- Jiminez does everything right, chases down, links play, great awareness but also really should have scored

- Jota badly needs a goal and only featured in fits and starts. Had time for the chance that he lashed at with his left foot to cut in on his right.

- Costa was great. Looks so much stronger after his pre season beefcake routine

- Cav looks very sharp. Some people around me complained that it was unfair on Adama that Cav came on first. But Cav is such an intelligent player with and without the ball that I think it's only a matter of time before he starts.

- Final word for Patricio- the second save of his double save was outrageous and he really is fantastic: I never feel worried about our defence and he plays a huge part in that.

Our fans were great. Palace's were very very quiet. The "famous atmosphere" was non-existent. And my god, what a shithole of a ground.

Completely agree that the ground sucks. It's knackered

and a total ballache to get away from.

Shearer and Wright calling for Coady to get an England call-up on MOTD. What a time to be alive.

They are right. A better central English centre half playing every week doesn't exist. He is good not great but deserves a call up even as reserve to Stones

I just said on Facebook to my friends (I only have real friends on FB, not any random people) that it is absolutely great to be a Wolves fan. Not many seasons over the last few decades we can say that. Very happy, I've been very guarded over the last two seasons about what I expect from the team. When we kicked off last season I was a bit wary for quite a while, I've been guarded this season too. But I think I'm getting convinced we can do very well this season. Very, very well.

We are a great unit. Great manager. Great players. Great football. Not perfect, but if we were perfect we would be top of the league!

Just so happy! It feels amazing to think Man U are lucky to be only 2 points behind us......

Paddy has been saying we will/may finish top six. I've not disagreed but I have not felt that was something we could do. I'm starting to believe!

It doesn't help when the club has a ticketing row with the 'Holmesdale Fanatics'.

Simply can't contemplate anyone other than Nuno as our manager now. If you offered me Guardiola I'd have a think about it and then decide to keep Nuno. It's not just Nuno, it's the whole team around him. At the start of last season we'd have taken £2m the pair for Coady and Doc. Nuno and his team have turned them into £15m players.

When Nuno took over I think most expected them to be sold and most would have been happy to see them go on a free.

Right now wouldn't swap Nuno and his team for anyone. I know we will have a bumpy patch at some point but right now this is unreal.

Rui the best keeper in the Prem right now?

This 100% ! ! !

A lot has changed with the game in the last 50 years, but Nuno already clearly stands out to me as our best manager/coach since Cullis ! And the role of the manager/coach is somewhat different now.

Despite all the incredible signings we have made in the last couple of years, Nuno has been by far the most important and influential. We are so lucky to have such a class act that is so tactically astute with an uncanny ability to transform run-of-the-mill players into something more. Long may he prosper at Wolves.

I have been saying for some time now that I wouldn't swap Nuno for any other manager in the world right now but I felt people might laugh at that!
