Nuno to leave Wolves

That seemed a reasonably well balanced article to me. Podence over Dani Olmo? Not a decision I'd have made.
If the backroom staff wanted to stay but they are going, that does rather suggest there's someone lined up who has said, "I want my own backroom staff."

I've read the article and, to be honest, I buy quite a lot of it. Bit worrying that it mentions some players may also see it as the end of a cycle but I suppose that's only natural and may be needed to raise funds.

More likely Nuno gets a new job and they all follow him out a couple of months after the new coach starts, leaving us screwed

How many would follow him though? Neves worst case I think who we wouldn't want to go (I don't think he will).

Funds can come from selling Mir, Vinagre etc.

Norman was speaking about the backroom staff asking to stay and us refusing

Also if there was such disharmony, why didn't he report it at the time?
Exactly. Funny nothing was reported over the past few weeks and then suddenly all these journos have “inside information” within hours of the news breaking.

The only bit I buy is that this was talked about in January/February. No way the players knew.
I reckon he's been fed stuff by the club. Makes it look like Nuno leaving was a logical decision

Could be the club wanting to control the narrative too I suppose.

Something that's just popped into my head, the players knew before Everton.

That Everton first half was the best we'd seen for a long time!

The Athletic is available at £1 a month for 6 months at the mo.

I think the most concerning thing for me in that article is the fact Nuno never attended an U23 game. Considering the club philosophy for young players that is just bizarre.

If the players had known it’d definitely leaked.

They did, didn't they? I haven't had much sleep recently but I think the players knew before the everton game?

It's in the article that some knew. Apparently the entire squad was told yesterday after the press conference as news outlets had gotten wind and wanted to break it.

No the players apparently found out yesterday before the announcement

Hm, might have to re-read it, didn't think the players knew at all, it was others at the club who knew

-edit- some players were speculating but doesn't seem like they were told properly until yesterday

Bit of an aside but I wonder what it means for RAN and Vitinha, no need to mention Jose. One way or another it`s going to be a massive close season.

Not really, it shows a hierarchy doing its job. If there were no U23 players who had played in Nuno’s time it would be a fair point but we’ve had a few come through and play.

The analysts would package up relevant highlights for Nuno and his staff.
