Nuno to leave Wolves

Talk of relegation is catastrophising fairly majorly. The available talent had been underperforming for a year, and was never in danger of going down. Unless we employ a Holloway and Saunders dream team we're not going down.

The problem is there has to be progression otherwise this could go south very quick.

And we won't know if it's happening for months..all that time to over discuss the tiny details.
Great times.

Fingers crossed a decent appointment and some early moves in the transfer market.

I would imagine it's get a manager in, who we all hope is a good one. Him and his staff assess the squad and then make changes based on what they think. And before all that the new manager would be asking what the budget is.
This change of manager could mean a wholesale change in the players and club itself, or it might not. So many unknowns right now i guess.

Therein lies a problem. A quick appointment should be fairly easily done, we will be an attractive proposition for all except those at the top of Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga.

The issue will be early transfer moves, nothing much happens in a Euro/World Cup year until after the said tournament.

I am expecting nothing until 15th-20 July

holy crap just saw this news in my timeline, see that the article is 9 hours ago, logged into the forum and the thread is already 25 pages (!!!) long

just kinda in a state of disbelief. I have my doubts about his ability to perform next season as there has been a lot of wheel spinning, but I at least thought he'd have the chance to prove himself one way or another. a lot of reading to catch up on (not sure if the thread is worth going through?), just sitting here kinda shocked by the sudden announcement.

this was already a big summer, and now not even knowing who the coach will be... scenes

If the thread is TL;DR, we are basically all a bit gutted.

phew that saves me a LOT of work, thanks. I see there's already a coach thread, I guess that'll be the spot to catch up on actual 'discussion'.

crazy times. I hope as the details come out it was at least a decision that treated him well. deciding to return home with the club allowing him a graceful exit, etc., versus anything more cut throat. done a hell of a lot for the club and deserves as much.

edit -- when I return to work in the fall it's gonna be sad seeing the 'nuno had a dream' scarf hanging in my office. :(

You employ a moron and anyone can go down.

Look at that West Ham squad in 2003.

McGarry first time around was good - only other one to praise is Stan Cullis (& yes I am old enough to have caught the end of that - though even I don't go any further back)

Those after weren't at the same level.

Taylor did well for where we were & Mick for the first 3 years, but was on borrowed time after and should have gone a year before he did.

One or two others shouldn't be mentioned in polite society
Ronnie Allen did an excellent job tbf.

Don't even need a moron.

Bad luck, new manager doesn't click, right players are not signed in, some key injuries happen (or get provoked by David Luiz) and you start to look at a sinking ship in prime time TV.

Nah just get BFS in in January and we will be fine

The fact he’s been nudged and left with us still in a good position means his still held in the highest regard.
If the things go south from here he’ll be elevated to a god like status.
or north

There's no doubt as it's just a business to them. It just doesn't sit right with me, and quite a few others out there. But it's done now and all we can hope is that Fosun don't fuck it up, or the Wolves world will come crashing down on them real quick.
I doubt its just business to them this was a great relationship
the bold bit, they cant guarantee success but as a business and a club you have to strive for the top they got us Nuno lets give them some credit

Definitely didn't expect this today but i have thought it was always a possibility this summer. I've been saying for a while that i'm not sure Nuno could take us to the next level as his preferred style of football has a ceiling and while it's been a strange and tough year i don't think he's convinced anyone that he could have got this side to play attacking football. However i do think it's still a massive gamble by Fosun that can obviously go very wrong but i also think it shows that their ambition remains as it would have been easy to keep Nuno and without a doubt finish somewhere between 7th-14th.

Despite me being quite critical of Nuno not getting the best out of this squad imo over the last year i was hoping he would be able to take us forward again so i am quite sad, he's the manager i have felt the biggest connection to as i feel he got us as fans and that's a big thing for me. I'm glad that i will be there on Sunday and will sing his name all game as he deserves that, he's given me the best times following this club the last 4 years, well the first 3 anyway and made us dream of big things for this club, i never thought we would play in Europe in my lifetime but Nuno made that possible and got us to a quarter final.

In terms of the future, what was a massive summer anyway is now multiplied by a 1000. Fosun have to get the appointment right, he has to get these players on his side, has to bring in much needed additions and get off to a good start. I don't think the names on the lists that we've all seen are very exciting imo but that's not saying they can't do a good job given the right circumstances.

Don’t expect a big transfer window this summer apparently one of the reasons Nuno and Fosun relationship broke down.
This will certainly effect which manager we’re able to attract.
Getting rid of Nuno to replace him with someone like Lage is taking backward steps.
